Trade Surveillance Analyst

Join our Trade Surveillance team and play a key role in safeguarding market integrity at CMC Markets.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for financial markets to make a direct impact in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. You’ll support the Trade Surveillance Manager in reviewing trading activity, investigating potential misconduct, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll take ownership of specific alerts, contribute to improvements in surveillance processes, and collaborate closely with colleagues across Compliance, Financial Crime, and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Trade Surveillance Manager with reviews, investigations, and reporting.
• Take responsibility for specific surveillance alerts as part of global T+1 monitoring of client trading activity.
• Investigate and escalate suspicious or potentially illegal trading behaviours.
• File Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports (STORs) and/or Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to regulators (FCA, NCA) within required timelines.
• Handle follow-up enquiries and requests for information from regulators.
• Review and update surveillance procedure documentation.
• Identify new risks and recommend enhancements to surveillance reporting and controls.
• Assist with other areas of Trade Surveillance, Financial Crime, and Compliance as required.
• Provide a high-quality, professional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of financial markets and CMC Markets’ products.
• Previous Trade Surveillance experience preferred; experience with surveillance systems is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
• Ability to make quick decisions and prioritise effectively.
• Clear, accurate reporting and communication skills, with confidence engaging regulators.
• Adaptability and resilience in a changing environment.
• Initiative to drive process improvements and contribute to departmental development.
