We are seeking an experienced Trade Operations Manager – APAC with a strong focus on Malaysia trade operations, particularly in managing LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) applications, import/export permits, and cross-border shipment coordination. This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of international trade activities across the APAC region, with deep involvement in operational documentation, broker coordination, license submissions, and ensuring the timely and efficient flow of goods.
The ideal candidate has a strong operational background in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing, deep familiarity with Malaysian trade and customs processes, and hands-on experience managing trade permits, LMW documentation, and coordination with customs brokers and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:Malaysia-Focused Responsibilities:
Manage all operational aspects related to LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse), including permit submissions, shipment declarations, and document tracking.
Prepare and submit import/export license and permit applications (e.g., LMW, CJ5, CJ5A, ePermit, etc.) to relevant authorities (e.g., MITI, RMCD, MIDA).
Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods into/out of LMW facilities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for audit purposes, including duty exemption usage, inventory movement under LMW, and permit approvals.
Regional APAC Responsibilities:
Oversee import/export shipment execution across APAC countries, including coordination with brokers and logistics providers in regions like Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, China, and South Korea.
Review and manage shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, COO, B/L, etc.) to ensure alignment with customs requirements in each country.
Track shipment status, manage exception handling, and coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, supply chain, warehouses) to resolve delays.
Monitor trade documentation workflows and ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipping records.
Support regional reporting on trade activities, including license status, customs clearance timelines, and broker performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to support supply chain planning and ensure alignment of trade operations with manufacturing schedules.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in trade operations or logistics within a manufacturing environment; experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry is highly preferred.
Proven experience managing LMW applications and import/export licensing in Malaysia.
Hands-on experience working with Malaysian authorities such as RMCD, MITI, MIDA, and DagangNet.
Familiarity with customs and trade operations across APAC.
Skills:
Solid knowledge of Malaysian customs procedures, LMW processes, and permit application platforms (e.g., ePCO, ePermit, DagangNet).
Strong operational understanding of international shipping documents and customs processes.
Good command of ERP and logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent communication and coordination skills across multi-country teams and third-party providers.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation management skills.
Able to work independently and manage complex cross-border shipments and timelines.
