The Global Trade Compliance team helps ensure Marvell’s worldwide activities are compliant with the export and import regulations of countries where we do business.
What You Can Expect
The Trade Compliance Manager will ensure compliance with the United States Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions (OFAC), Singapore’s Strategic Goods (Control) Act, and other applicable export and import control regimes.
The Trade Compliance Manager will be based out of Marvell’s Ho Chi Minh office in Vietnam and will report to the Head of Trade Compliance – APAC Region.
The Trade Compliance Manager will be primarily responsible for import and export compliance activities at Marvell locations in Vietnam. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Act as the primary liaison for Trade Compliance team in Vietnam for export and import regulations and processes for products, software, and technology.

Act as the liaison between various business functions, external and internal customers located in Vietnam, and the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team. Provide Trade Compliance support to the U.S. and overseas locations, ensuring business transactions are processed in compliance with the applicable trade control requirements.

Assign United States and foreign classification determinations (HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, USML Category Code) for products, software, and technology.

Assist in developing worldwide standard processes and documentation to drive trade compliance efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure compliance with APAC and United States requirements relating to the deemed export rule, prohibited end-use, end-user, restricted parties, and sanctioned destinations.

Ensure Vietnam import/export compliance, permit, and reporting requirements are met.

Establish and maintain appropriate compliance and inbound/outbound logistics protocols; collaborate in the development and delivery of training programs, audits, and other compliance-related projects relevant to APAC operations.
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates must demonstrate their ability to:

Understand and apply the United States Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions (OFAC), Singapore’s Strategic Goods (Control) Act, and other applicable export and import control regulations by region.

Act as primary liaison between Marvell Vietnam, and the Global Trade Compliance Team located in Singapore and the United States.

Oversee daily import/export transactions.

Assist in the management and maintenance of the Global Export and Import Compliance Program and the automation of key Trade Compliance processes.

Support the Trade Compliance team with the domestic and foreign classification of products, software, and technologies, and export and import license applications.

Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings in import and export transactions.

Assist in the monitoring of departmental metrics and perform other duties to help mitigate trade compliance risk.

Monitor Marvell’s Global Trade Management (Oracle) system, address classification and other trade-related holds and provide compliant, timely order release.

Partner with numerous stakeholders within the Company including Legal, Facilities, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, and IT to develop and execute defined procedures.
Requirements:

Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience working in Trade and Customs Compliance field within a fast-paced corporate environment.

University/College degree preferred. Other Customs or Trade Compliance-related certification is a plus.

Knowledge and experience of the semiconductor industry, logistics industry, and Vietnam customs regulations.

Ability to interpret U.S. and other applicable trade regulations and apply the requirements to business operations and activities.

Have experience building and managing relationships with internal stakeholders, third-party customs brokers and other compliance related service providers.

Proficient in both spoken and written English communication.

Demonstrated excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills, and be an organized self-starter with the ability to think both operationally and strategically.
