The Best Players Need the Best People.
The Korn Ferry Tour Championship is the season-finale for the Korn Ferry Tour, with the players that finish in the top 20 in points earning their PGA TOUR cards for the following season. The 2026 event will take place October 5 – 11 at The Federal Club in Glen Allen, VA. The Event Services Intern is responsible for assisting the Tournament Manager with management of the volunteer program. The tournament has over 750 local volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduating senior or graduate student in from accredited four-year college or university or currently possess a bachelor’s degree
- Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Communications, or comparable major preferred
- Eligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Public relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public
- Must take initiative, operate proactively, and think independently in project management and problem solving
- Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously
- Self-discipline with schedule and time management
- Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods and lift/move boxes of supplies and apparel potentially weighing 45 pounds or more
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Communication and public relations with volunteers
- Recruit volunteers through local charities and community organizations
- Oversee and manage the volunteer database system
- Assist the volunteer leadership with communication and scheduling
- Manage volunteer uniform distribution and training sessions
- Oversee the Tournament’s volunteer communication including the monthly newsletter
- Assist with the Tournament’s grassroots marketing campaign, working with local partners to promote the event
- Assist with event pre-planning and logistics
- Work closely with the Tournament’s title sponsor consortium and host club
- Assist with general administrative work and other tournament related duties as assigned
