As a Tooling Engineer based in the United States, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the tools and equipment essential for manufacturing processes. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in tooling design and development within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, molding, or assembly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC programming and operation.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Experience working in automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery industries.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets production requirements and quality standards.
  • Analyze existing tooling performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues during production to minimize downtime.
  • Manage tooling documentation, including specifications, drawings, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for tooling procurement and maintenance services.
  • Support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processes related to tooling.

The required skills such as CAD proficiency and manufacturing process knowledge are essential for designing precise and functional tooling that meets production needs. Problem-solving abilities enable the engineer to quickly identify and resolve tooling issues, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing.
