The Tolerance Analysis Manager will staff with the "right" number of highly skilled personnel based on new program peaks and overall timing. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will Lead the cross functional teams to ensure, the Body and Exterior Build Objectives, Interior Build Objectives, and the Chassis Build/functional Objectives are met. 3–D Tolerance Analysis will be used to develop Product and Process Specifications that will achieve finished vehicle Dimensional and Functional Objectives. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will lead the development and implementation of product and process countermeasures based on tolerance analysis. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will lead the development of BIW and Subassemblies tolerances, Load and clearance studies for interior and tolerance analysis to ensure Chassis decking, wheel alignment and driveline alignment dimensional and functional objectives are met. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will work with PDO, Advanced Program and Engineering teams early on in the Program timeline. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will provide program level status on a weekly basis. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will re run tolerance analysis to ensure there is no degradation to Dimensional and Functional Objectives based on Supplier feedback. The Manager of Tolerance Analysis will lead the development of BIW and Subassemblies tolerances, lead Load and clearance studies for interior and tolerance analysis to ensure Chassis decking, wheel alignment and driveline alignment dimensional and functional objectives are met. The Tolerance Analysis Manager will work with PDO, Advanced Program and Engineering teams early on in the Program timeline.
Preferred QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years' working in the automotive industry including the following knowledge/experience: BIW sequence and process
- Strong GD&T experience
- Strong organizational written and verbal communication skills
- High level of analytical skills for problem solving
- Proficient in Teamcenter Visualization, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Strong understanding of statistical tolerances
- Understanding of tolerance paths and running basic tolerance stacks
- Experience evaluating product, process and tolerance alternatives in order to optimize a design where dimensional performance is critical
- Ability to work with cross functional teams to ensure the assembly plant will be capable to achieve build objectives with the plan of record part design, part tolerances and assembly process.
- Experience with 3 Dimensional Tolerance Analysis, especially 3-DCS
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
