Position Details
Summary
Software Test Engineer is a member of Novanta R&D center in Brno which provides a wide range of R&D services for various business units in Novanta.
The SW Test Engineer will partner with System and Software Design team in a definition of test requirements, test specifications, test environment/tools and test software implementation and execution during the product development life cycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Software testing on embedded medical devices developed in alignment with required medical standards.
- Testing areas can include application software hosted on Linux or Window embedded OS down to the hardware.
- Participate in engineering requirements and specification design by providing verifier’s point of view.
- Develop, design and document formal software test requirements, plans and procedures.
- Record any non-compliance in the defect tracking database and collaborate with developers to reproduce and investigate issues.
- Participate in Test Automation development activities.
General Tasks
- Coordinate with software developers on requirements and testing environment to ensure testing can be executed efficiently.
- Complete testing (preparation of test cases and executing them) per software requirements as needed during product lifecycle.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- Experience with software test/verification processes and methods.
- Software or tests software design and implementation experience. Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- At least mid-level knowledge of C# is desired (from perspective of test scripting and implementation) or deeper knowledge of C++ or other languages with willingness to learn C# for test automation.
- Good verbal and written English are a must and German is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with embedded systems and hardware/software interaction is a plus.
- Experience with issue tracking SW (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps) is a plus.
- Experience with version management system (Git) is a plus.
