Highly focused Test Operations Leader with extensive experience managing Engineering teams and subcontractors in Malaysia. Proven ability to merge technical excellence with financial stewardship, consistently implementing continuous improvement initiatives to achieve cost reduction goals, supporting products post manufacturing release and deliver operational excellence through cost reductions, OEE, yield and cycle time improvements to achieve our test KPI goals.
This position reports into Test Operations under Operations Engineering Department (OED).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of offshore Test Operations Engineers, defining team goals, assessing training needs, and driving career development.
- Responsible for overall Test Operations activities to support Renesas Product Groups and other functional teams (Supply Chain, Quality, Packaging, Foundry, PMO) on all phases of product lifecycle in Malaysia.
- Oversee and execute daily test operations activities with internal factories and test OSATs to ensure customer delivery fulfillment (i.e. Lot tracking and dispositions, Test Program releases and debugging, Hardware Troubleshooting/Repairs, Equipment up-time, Tester Utilization OEE tracking, Continuous Improvement Process, etc)
- Execute new test capacity expansions (tester/ handler/ hardware) to ensure sufficient capacity and meet production demand. Align with supply chain (SCM), hardware engineering, and external vendors to forecast capacity, analyze test requirements, and manage hardware procurement.
- Coordinate Probe/Final Test transfer from New Product Introduction to High Volume Manufacturing from Renesas Product Group groups
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects (CIP) and process optimizations to secure annual cost savings team goal.
- Establish structured communication channels with colleagues and suppliers, generating regular performance reports and conducting risk or problem analyses for management.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computing or related engineering discipline
- Preferable with >10 years of experience in High Volume Semiconductor Test Manufacturing & Engineering environment in Probe/ WLCSP and Final Test Operations
- Familiar with test processes / equipment operations/ planning concepts
- Excellent problem-solving ability (8D, Why-Why Analysis, Process & Manufacturing challenges)
- Strong communication capabilities to align cross-functional teams, resolve workplace or supplier friction smoothly, and foster a positive collaborative culture.
- Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects from inception to completion, including comprehensive risk assessment and cross-functional coordination.

- Familiar with failure analysis and reliability testing
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools (JMP, Spotfire, etc.)
