The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Test Lead to join the Fortnite Battle Royale Gameplay team overseeing the testing of Battle Royale’s biggest upcoming weapons, items, vehicles, and more. You'll love this role if you have a passion for both people and data, as your main focus will be growing a team of testers in skill and career development, and gathering data to report on testing status and product quality.
In this role, you will
- Understand current and proposed future changes for Fortnite Battle Royale’s Gameplay features deeply enough to assess QA needs
- Input, review, and update test cases for the Fortnite Battle Royale Gameplay QA team
- Hire, train, and review testers effectiveness for Battle Royale and related QA teams
- Supervise day to day tasking of testers to ensure the highest priority testing tasks are done
- Evaluate and prioritize incoming test requests against product roadmap and quality objectives on a daily basis
- Collaborate with both internal and external testing teams to balance workloads, ensuring highest priority tasks are allocated appropriately
- Track and report on defect rates of test cycles and escalate major concerns to stakeholders in QA and beyond appropriately
What we're looking for
- 3 years or more of QA Testing experience within a structured team
- Experience working on one or more shipped game titles preferred
- 1 year or more of leadership experience including: at least 3 months of management experience
- Experience planning and scheduling testing alongside development milestones
- Experience working collaboratively across multiple different teams in different time zones
- Technical software or troubleshooting skills (degree in Computer Science or equivalent, self-taught, or relevant experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with bug tracking systems such as Jira. This includes logging bugs, tracking active issues, following up on completed tasks, and reporting on issues and project status
- Employees will be required to be within commutable distance to the assigned office or studio to be available for in-person meetings and events as needed
