Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Test Engineer to support testing of both embedded and software application level products through rigorous test processes. The ideal candidate will design, execute, and automate test plans and procedures for hardware, software, and embedded products. They will perform data analysis and collaborate with development and operations teams to deliver high quality solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, and system-level testing.
- Run advanced test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Execute test plans and procedures, analyze and document results.
- Perform test automation including automated data collection and analysis.
- Recommend next steps for development and testing based on test results and analysis.
- Present results to senior engineers, PMs and management in a clear and concise manner.
- Independently generate test plans from requirements.
- Independently generate test procedures from test plans and knowledge of system HW, SW and test equipment.
- Develop custom test equipment and software in coordination with Mechanical, Systems, and SW functions.
- Work with operations team to incorporate testing for manufacturability and system repeatability where appropriate.
- Help SE and PM prioritize testing to mitigate project risk.
- Work with PM to provide test schedule estimates and updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure overall project goals are met.
- Present test plans to more senior engineers and PM.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on, technical problem-solving mind-set, ideally with both HW and SW
- Ability to understand and define testing approaches
- Experience with hardware or software or systems testing
- Ability to use an oscilloscope and other standard electronics lab equipment is desirable
- Programming skills - familiarity with Python desirable (or any other programming language)
- Experience with embedded systems and hardware is desirable
- Fluent English and good communication skills for work in international team
- Detail-oriented with ability to summarize and communicate effectively internally and with customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment
