The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Test Engineer to support Flight Testing out of our Beavercreek, OH office near WPAFB. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge, next generation solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Leading the Planning of various Flight Tests, sometimes with a small team.
Interfacing with customers and subcontractors regularly to determine test objectives, test plans, and to obtain answers.
Working with Government security and spectrum management to obtain approvals for the operation of test equipment.
Working to influence project/team leaders regarding process solutions and/or test approaches.
Lead and Collaborate with Flight Test Team members over execution of the test process.
Oversee the design and implementation of cabin layouts for various flight tests.
Direct and coordinate small to medium flight tests as either the test director or test coordinator.
Ensure and used best Flight Test practices to ensure repeatability of the test, uniformity of required documentation and Configuration Management of flight test documentation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field and 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
US Citizenship required.
Must have an active DoD TS clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Experience working in a SIL environment.
Experience with leading small teams.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans and test reporting.
Able to interface with a customer or subcontractor directly to coordinate plans and/or obtain answers.
Strong Technical writing skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Aircraft Performance and Airspace Knowledge.
Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally from informal one-on-one discussions or in a small group environment.
Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task).
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
Demonstrated test plan and test report writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute test plans and test reporting in support of aircraft operations.
Previous experience supporting remote exercises and demonstrations at test ranges in the United States.
Experience in data collection and analysis to verify accuracy of test objectives met.
Datalink/Mesh Network Field Experience
COMSEC Experience
Hands-on aircraft maintenance and/or modification experience.
Previous experience supporting remote exercises and demonstrations at test ranges in the United States.
Familiar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban.
Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
