Minimum Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to accurately test products for consistency with specifications.
Good verbal and written communication skill.
Quality Assurance training.
Working with hand tools
DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
(Optional) – Preferred but not required
Electrical/mechanical experience is an asset
Previous test lab related experience is an asset
Previous machine shop experience is an asset
Automotive manufacturing experience
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Compensation: $65,000 - 70,000 annually
Schedules and performs various product testing including weld testing with available equipment.
Maintain knowledge of Mytox Lab Manual pertaining to Lab, ISO/QS 9000, TS16949:2002, AIAG standards, customer standards, safety standards.
Make “pass” or “fail” recommendations on tests in accordance with set standards/specifications.
Carry out continual conformance testing for the engineering, quality, and production department.
Safe operation and maintenance of test equipment and measuring instruments to prevent costly damage to prototypes and equipment.
Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
Troubleshooting of test lab equipment -- current and preventative.
Conducts analysis of test samples
Assign priorities and schedules tests.
Perform testing for PPAP and DVP + R.
Read and become knowledgeable with specifications and standards.
Accurately report test results and advise corrective actions.
Perform environmental testing, durability testing, salt spray testing, static/dynamic load testing, and weld testing*.
Support prototype build.
Complete technical writing, test reports, summaries and presentations
