To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Engineer located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Quality/Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, validating, and sustaining test solutions for electronic products and systems in a high-technology manufacturing environment. This role will support production test systems, troubleshooting, yield improvement, equipment verification, documentation, and cross-functional engineering initiatives to ensure product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and operational excellence.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop, support, and improve test programs, test fixtures, hardware interfaces, and automated test systems for electronic assemblies and products.
- Coordinate installation, calibration, verification, and integration of test equipment into production.
- Analyze and interpret test data to identify trends, resolve failures, and provide technical recommendations to engineering and operations teams.
- Troubleshoot product, system, hardware, software, and test equipment issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support functional, in-circuit, system-level, and environmental testing activities to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Create and maintain test plans, procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and technical reports.
- Train and mentor test technicians, operators, and manufacturing personnel on test hardware, software, and problem-solving techniques.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Design, and Customer Engineering teams to improve test coverage, product quality, and yield performance.
- Support Design for Testability (DFT), New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement emerging test technologies, automation tools, and best practices to drive operational excellence.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or other technical discipline.
- 4+ years of Test Engineering experience in electronics manufacturing, high-technology, aerospace, defense, or a related industry.
- Experience developing and supporting automated test solutions, including test software, fixtures, instrumentation, and production test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause investigation skills with a proven ability to improve yield, quality, and test performance.
- Working knowledge of functional test, ICT, DFT principles, electronic assemblies, PCB testing, schematics, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives and work effectively with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and customer teams.
