We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be a key driver of software quality, responsible for designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks and ensuring high standards through rigorous testing cycles. You will work closely with development teams to implement quality gates within our delivery pipeline, moving beyond manual execution to a fully CI-integrated automation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Strategy: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Python and Playwright to ensure maximum test coverage.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline, establishing automated quality gates that prevent defective code from reaching production.
- Comprehensive Testing: Execute a balanced testing strategy including Functional, Regression, and Exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues.
- API Validation: Perform thorough API testing to validate endpoint functionality, performance, and security, ensuring seamless communication between microservices.
- Test Lifecycle Management: Handle the end-to-end testing process, including test creation, strategic test execution, and proactive defect management (tracking, reporting, and verification).
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor test results and pipeline health to optimize execution time and reduce flakiness in the automation suite.
Required Technical Skills
- Automation Tools: Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar tools like Pytest).
- API Testing: Expertise in testing RESTful services using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or Python-based libraries (e.g., Requests).
- CI/CD Pipelines: Practical knowledge of integrating tests into DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Testing Methodologies: Deep understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Defect Tracking: Proficiency with management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
- Version Control: Comfortable using Git for managing test scripts and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., Locust or JMeter).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) to run tests in isolated environments.
- Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think like an end-user during exploratory sessions.
Minimum Compensation: USD 37,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 131,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
This position is not available for independent contractors
