Job Description:

The Territory Sales Leader (TSL) is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding distribution, and executing merchandising standards for Mars Snacking products across all retail channels within an assigned territory. Additionally, this role oversees key wholesale and retail account management to deliver targeted Gross Sales Value (GSV) and Trade Spend (T/S) objectives while acting as a peer coach within the regional sales team.

*This role is responsible for managing and supporting the Downtown Toronto territory. To ensure effective coverage and responsiveness, candidates who reside in or near the assigned territory will be given priority consideration during the selection process.*What are we looking for?
  • Post Secondary Education, Business Administration or relevant field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain vehicle insurance coverage meeting Mars Canada Inc. standards.
  • Ability to drive approximately 100 km daily within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver product cases up to 50 lbs. Ability to sustain repetitive physical movements throughout the day, including entering/exiting vehicles, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and assembling display units.
  • Prior experience in Field Sales, Merchandising, Territory Management, or Account Management within the CPG/FMCG or retail sector is strongly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, relationship-building, organization, and communication skills.
  • High self-motivation with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in field sales applications/CRM tools and basic Microsoft Office.
What will be your key responsibilities?

Account Management:

  • Manage wholesale and retail chain accounts with GSV and T/S targets.
  • Strengthen relationships with head office stakeholders to drive mutual growth through implementation of programs which include planograms (share of shelf and positioning), distribution/listings, displays, promotions, etc.

Retail Execution:

  • Sell in and maintaining distribution of assigned products.
  • Responsible for presenting display programs to customers and suggesting order.
  • Presenting and selling booking sheets to stores.
  • Ensuring all listed product are stocked and properly displayed on shelves with store price tags.
  • Replenishing of display fixtures, including Mars Wrigley Canada racks.
  • Working with the customer to secure secondary space for building of display.
  • Applying POS or other Marketing materials where applicable.
  • Product rotation both on-shelf and in backroom to ensure optimal product quality and freshness.
  • Maintain appropriate data (customer Info, survey recording, tracking, etc…) in field sales data collection software.
  • Territory management through customer coverage that involves efficient and effective use of time and resources. 
  • Plan and organise route schedule according to company call coverage model (frequency and time-in call).
  • Maintain an adequate stock of relevant merchandising supplies and POS materials.
  • Follow company procedures for processing credits/cheques.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key store personnel.
  • Keep DSM up-to-date regarding territory activity.
  • As required, serve as a Peer Coach for other regional and team members for onboarding tasks.
