About Us

Ecolab’s Institutional division partners with aged care facilities, hotels, hospitals and commercial kitchens to deliver safer, cleaner and more efficient environments. We’re seeking a hands-on motivated and customer-focused Territory Manager to help grow and support our customers.

About the Role

As our Territory Manager, preferably based in Waikato, you will be the face of Ecolab Institutional, covering Central North Island and the Taranaki regions. You will be managing a varied portfolio of customers while identifying new business opportunities through distributor partnerships and direct relationships. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys mixing customer engagement, technical service, problem-solving and commercial growth. You’ll spend time on the road, occasionally staying a few nights away per month, supporting aged care customers and other institutional partners.

You will also undertake basic on-site installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Ecolab equipment—so comfort with the use of basic hand and power tools is important.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Management & Growth

  • Manage and grow a defined territory across the Institutional sector

  • Build strong relationships with aged care facilities, hospitality venues and commercial customers

  • Work with distributors to identify and convert new business opportunities

  • Conduct site assessments, recommend solutions and deliver product demonstrations

Technical Service & Support

  • Install and maintain small Ecolab dispensing and dosing systems (basic power tools required)

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate complex service needs when required

  • Train customers in safe and effective use of Ecolab products and systems

Commercial & Operational Execution

Deliver on territory sales targets and new business pipeline

  • Maintain accurate activity reporting, forecasting and CRM updates

  • Ensure all work aligns with Ecolab’s safety, quality and service standards

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel within your territory, including overnight stays

About You

You are a proactive, customer-first professional who enjoys balancing account management, hands-on service and commercial growth. You’ll bring:

  • Experience working in or supporting aged care, hospitality, healthcare or related sectors

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently

  • Comfort using basic tools (e.g., drill, screwdriver, wrench) and willingness to learn

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required

Experience in hygiene, facilities, chemicals or services is valuable but not essential—full training is provided.

Why Ecolab?

  • Join a global leader dedicated to making the world cleaner and safer

  • Access world-class training and development pathways

  • Competitive salary + vehicle + tools + bonuses

  • Strong team culture, with ongoing support and career progression
