SCOPE:

The Packer works with the finished product. Packer ensures that all finished product conforms to the highest quality standard, is packaged per the manufacturing specification, and is palletized in the proper manner. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes and adheres to all safety rules and signage; follows all Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Picks finished product from the line and places into display tray packages, or cartons
  • Examine all finished product to ensure that packing specifications are met, date code is applied, and no leaking product is coming from the finished package
  • Communicate with management team regarding any finished good quality issues or concerns that arise on the line
  • Construct/assemble display items or trays by folding or erecting cardboard to meet specifications
  • Accurately count and record products and materials
  • Seal finished cartons and place on pallet as defined by Manufacturing Specification using equipment
  • Transport completed pallets to staging area using pallets jacks
  • Assist in changeovers and utilizing work stoppages by cleaning work area using cleaning solutions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Must possess visual acuity complete visual quality checks
  • Must be able to lift  and carry up to 40 pounds
  • May be subject to seasonal temperature extremes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
  • Work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Willing to learn and have attention to detail
  • Ability to work extended hours while standing 
  • Good job performance and attendance records
