Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Collaborate with the Director of Creative Video and Executive Producers to conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics for YouTube series, social content, sizzle reels, presentations, and other creative projects.
- Design engaging thumbnails and supporting visual assets for recurring video content across multiple Hearst Magazines brands.
- Retouch photography and create polished visual assets while maintaining each brand's creative standards and identity.
- Extend backgrounds, sets, and other visual elements to enhance social-first video content.
- Develop presentation decks, infographics, and other design materials that support internal and external storytelling.
- Support senior designers and animators by creating motion graphics templates (MOGRTs), animations, and production-ready design assets.
- Manage multiple creative assignments simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Grow into ownership of graphic packages and animation projects as expertise and familiarity with Hearst brands develop.
Qualification (What We're Looking For)
- 1+ years of experience in motion graphics design, animation, or a related creative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable video editing software.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging motion graphics with a strong eye for layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a deadline-driven creative environment.
- Passion for design, animation, and visual storytelling with a portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant work.
- Bachelor's degree in motion design, animation, graphic design, or a related field preferred.
- This is a remote position.
The hourly rate for this role is $32.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
