Summary: As a Microsoft SQL SME, you’ll be the go-to expert for designing, deploying, and optimizing SQL Server environments. You’ll work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of database systems. Roles & Responsibilities: -Architect and implement SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies (AlwaysOn, replication, log shipping) -Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and T-SQL code reviews -Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances (2016–2022) -Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas -Troubleshoot replication failures and resolve database issues -Maintain backup and recovery policies, including storage and capacity planning -Support enterprise-level deployments and migrations -- Document configurations, procedures, and best practices - 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server - Strong knowledge of query plans, indexing strategies, and execution plans - Experience with Windows clustering, load balancing, and storage management - Familiarity with cloud-based SQL (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL) is a plus - Proficiency in SQL Server Agent, job scheduling, and automation Soft Skills & Collaboration - Strong communication and documentation skills - Ability to work with cross-functional teams and mentor junior DBAs - Willingness to support critical deployments during off-hours - Manage SQL Server BI components: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS - Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas - Troubleshoot replication failures and resolve database issues - Maintain backup and recovery policies, including storage and capacity planning - Support enterprise-level deployments and migrations - Document configurations, procedures, and best practices Required Skills - 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server - Strong knowledge of query plans, indexing strategies, and execution plans - Experience with Windows clustering, load balancing, and storage management - Familiarity with cloud-based SQL (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL) is a plus - Proficiency in SQL Server Agent, job scheduling, and automation Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Administration. - Strong understanding of database management and optimization techniques. - Experience with troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues. - Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases. - Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring tools.
