Technology Platform Product Owner

Madrid Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

As Platform Product Owner, you will play a critical role in driving our internal technology platform growth, ensuring the infrastructure, DevOps, developer experience (DevX), and security scale efficiently to meet our customer’s needs. You will play a key role in contributing to Ebury’s platform strategy, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure Ebury’s services deliver performance, scalability and security whilst supporting developer productivity throughout our engineering teams.

Our Challenges:

Our platform team must support the rapid scaling of Ebury’s operations across multiple products and services. This involves ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of our core infrastructure, while also enabling product delivery teams with the tooling, frameworks and robust security practices.

  • Agile, multidisciplinary product-oriented teams with continuous feedback loops.
  • Use of Agile methodology alongside Lean Startup practices such as prototyping, hypothesis testing, and metric-driven decision-making.
  • Platform strategies centred around scalability, automation, and self-service.
  • Solutions deployed across web, mobile, and APIs, integrated with a secure and scalable infrastructure.
  • Dedicated platform engineering teams focussed on optimising reliability, security, and developer productivity.

You will be responsible for:

  • Contributing towards the platform roadmap, focusing on DevOps, core infrastructure, developer experience (DevX), risk, and security.
  • Collaboration with engineering, operations, and risk/security teams to deliver scalable and reliable platform services.
  • Develop and manage the platform backlog, ensuring business and technical priorities are aligned.
  • Oversee Agile ceremonies and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver platform improvements.
  • Drive the adoption of platform best practices for automation, monitoring, and incident management.
  • Measure and improve platform performance through KPIs, tracking the impact of platform initiatives.
  • Ensure platform security meets compliance and regulatory standards, in collaboration with security and risk teams.

Expectations:

You will have:

  • A passion for technology supporting business growth and platform-as-product thinking.
  • Experience managing relationships with cross-functional teams and delivering results in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience translating business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, DevOps, and developer experience (DevX) principles to drive platform improvements.
  • Familiarity with high-compliance environments, particularly related to security, risk, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA).
  • Solid communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to clearly communicate product needs and requirements to leadership, business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Advanced/Fluent English

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in fintech, neobank, or platform engineering roles in high-growth environments.
  • Technical familiarity with DevOps tools, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is integrated into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with FinOps (Financial Operations) principles to optimise cloud infrastructure spending while maintaining efficiency and performance.
