Company Overview:

Arctiq is a leader in professional IT services and managed services across three core Centers of Excellence: Enterprise Security, Modern Infrastructure and Platform Engineering. Renowned for our ability to architect intelligence, we connect, protect, and transform organizations, empowering them to thrive in today's digital landscape. Arctiq builds on decades of industry expertise and a customer-centric ethos to deliver exceptional value to clients across diverse industries.

Position Overview:

The Networking Technology Lead is the architecture authority for Arctiq's networking practice. This role owns the design standards, reference architectures, and technology strategy that define how Arctiq delivers networking solutions across its managed services portfolio. The Tech Lead works closely with Solution Architects on complex customer engagements, leads the networking technology roadmap, and ensures the delivery team operates against a consistent, modern, and defensible design standard. This is a forward-facing, design-focused role — the value delivered is in the quality and repeatability of architecture, not in being an operational seat.

Responsibilities

  • The networking architecture library: reference designs, standard configurations, and approved patterns for LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and wireless deployments.
  • The networking technology roadmap: vendor assessments, platform decisions, and capability investments that shape the practice over time.
  • Design quality across the practice: review and approval of major customer solutions before they reach delivery.
  • The technical voice in pre-sales for complex or strategic networking engagements.
  • The automation and tooling direction for network provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.

- Architecture and Design Standards

  • Define and maintain reference architectures for core networking domains: LAN/WAN, firewall and security-edge, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud networking interconnects.
  • Establish and govern design standards and configuration patterns used across all managed services customer environments.
  • Lead design reviews for complex or high-risk customer deployments, ensuring solutions meet Arctiq standards before they reach the delivery team.
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard designs, build guides, and approved technology patterns accessible to engineering and delivery personnel.
  • Define the review and approval process for non-standard designs and exceptions to established patterns.

- Technology Strategy and Roadmap

  • Own the networking technology roadmap — evaluate emerging platforms, assess vendor trajectory, and make recommendations on technology investments.
  • Assess and pilot new networking platforms (SD-WAN, SASE, AI-driven network management) to identify opportunities that enhance delivery quality or expand practice capabilities.
  • Serve as the technical decision-maker for networking platform and vendor selections.
  • Maintain currency with market direction and ensure Arctiq's architecture standards reflect best-in-class approaches.
  • Provide input to the practice business case for new networking service offerings based on architecture feasibility and delivery readiness.

- Pre-Sales and Customer Engagement

  • Partner with Solution Architects on complex and strategic pre-sales engagements, providing architectural depth and credibility for networking-intensive opportunities.
  • Review and validate customer solution designs prior to proposal, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with delivery standards.
  • Support proof-of-concept and design workshops for key prospects or strategic expansion opportunities.
  • Represent Arctiq's networking architecture capability in customer QBRs and technology roadmap discussions.
  • Develop reusable proposal content, architecture diagrams, and technical narratives for common networking solution patterns.

- Automation and Innovation

  • Lead the adoption of automation frameworks and AI-driven tooling for network provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.
  • Identify and eliminate manual touchpoints in the delivery lifecycle through design-level automation — embedding repeatability into the architecture itself, not as an afterthought.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled anomaly detection and performance monitoring capabilities that reduce customer downtime and improve mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  • Collaborate with practice technology leadership to align automation investments across networking, compute, and security domains.

Governance and Knowledge Development

  • Lead the networking practice's contribution to the monthly Services Governance Forum — representing standards, roadmap decisions, and design direction.
  • Ensure all architecture decisions and design patterns are documented, version-controlled, and accessible to the delivery team.
  • Develop training content and knowledge-transfer materials that raise architectural competency across the engineering team.
  • Mentor engineers on design thinking, architecture principles, and standards adherence — building the team's ability to execute independently against the defined standard.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of networking engineering or architecture experience, with at least 3 years in a design-focused or architecture role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise networking solutions at scale — multi-site, multi-vendor, hybrid cloud environments.
  • Background in managed services, professional services, or consulting strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading a technical team on standards and design quality.
  • Expert-level knowledge across core enterprise networking domains: routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper), security-edge (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point), SD-WAN (Meraki, VeloCloud, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN), and wireless (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki).
  • Proficiency in cloud networking and interconnect architectures: AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual WAN, hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Experience with SASE frameworks (Zscaler, Prisma Access, or equivalent) and SDN architecture.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven network management and automation platforms (Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central, Auvik, or equivalent).
  • Network automation experience: Ansible, Python-based configuration management, or equivalent tooling.
  • Strong documentation skills — able to produce architecture diagrams, design guides, and decision records that others can execute against.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure, Routing and Switching, or Security) or equivalent expert-level certification.
  • At minimum: Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE 7/8 if CCIE not held.
  • Cloud networking certifications (AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer) a plus.

Ideal Candidate

  • You think in reference architectures, not individual tickets.
  • You can credibly represent Arctiq's networking capability in a customer boardroom.
  • You reduce escalations by building better standards — not by being the person escalations flow to.
  • Engineers build from your blueprints and rarely need to ask the same design question twice.
  • The practice's architecture library grows more complete with each engagement, not just when something breaks.
