Java Developer – Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations and applications using Java/J2EE technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework).
- Develop web/UI components using modern frameworks such as React JS, delivering high-quality, user-friendly interfaces.
- Build and support interfaces using RESTful web services, handling JSON, XML, and CSV formats.
- Develop and consume APIs using Spring Boot / Spring MVC (REST Controllers).
- Work with enterprise Java technologies including Spring, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture.
- Strong involvement in database development, optimization, and performance tuning, with a focus on PL/SQL.
- Design and implement solutions based on architecture guidelines and business requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, QA, and production environments.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and iterative delivery processes.
- Maintain clear documentation, including technical designs, API specifications, and support runbooks.
Requirements / Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 6–9 years of hands-on experience in Java development, specifically:
- Java / J2EE Technologies
- Spring Boot / Spring Framework
- Hibernate / JPA
- Experience with enterprise UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar.
- Strong experience in RESTful web services development and consumption.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes – preferred).
- Strong expertise in PL/SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Proficiency in handling structured and semi-structured data formats (XML, JSON, CSV).
- Experience with integration protocols and messaging systems such as:
- REST / SOAP
- Kafka / RabbitMQ / JMS
- SFTP
- Understanding of API security, including authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
- Strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, and error handling in distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with:
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Version control (Git)
- Build tools (Maven/Gradle)
Must Have
- Strong technical expertise across Java backend development, integration frameworks, and databases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, technologies, and business needs.
