The Technology Lead Business Analyst is a mid-senior level position responsible for liaising between diverse business and technology stakeholders, establishing the product vision, shaping priorities, and steering the product roadmap.

Team/Role Overview:

The role is of a Technology Lead Business Analyst /Product Owner position accountable for delivering a first-class digital experience enhancing the functinalities of the FINSAP platform and lead multiple ongoing product initiatives.  Working with the broader FINSAP product and technology team, the role involves creating, organizing, enhancing, and building scalable FINSAP digital product that are fit for purpose and support the needs of finance stakeholders.

This role requires an individual with strong digital product and automation expertise, with a particular focus on how to leverage AI/ML to transform the way Finance processes are carried out in the bank. Prior financial services exposure across automation, Financial Adjustments,  Accounting and Controls implementation is essential, along with a proven track record of building digital and data products for institutional clients.

You should have previously built, led, and scaled digital and data products; developed innovative and impactful solutions to provide clients with the capabilities they need to drive their strategic objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify and champion opportunities to leverage Citi's scale, bringing new product enhancmements and services to the Financial Services Automation Platform (FINSAP) team to further its strategic agenda.
  • Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of high-quality, finance user-centric digital products, from identifying needs, designing solutions, prioritizing development and scaling adoption.
  • Apply product management best practices as championed by industry thought leaders (Marty Cagan methodology), including discovery techniques, continuous product delivery, empowered product teams, and outcome-driven roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with governance teams and engineers to deliver high quality, delightful products to clients; whilst maintaining rigorous data accuracy, completeness, security, reliability, and adhering to firm-wide standards and policies while managing associated risks.
  • Lead discovery efforts to deeply understand client problems, validate solutions through rapid experimentation, and ensure product-market fit before scaling.
  • Partner with Finance users to understand their Data and Digital needs, translating complex automation workflows into intuitive digital experiences.
  • Foster continuous improvement by implementing efficient processes, reducing time to market, and proactively identifying and resolving issues through root cause analysis.
  • Take primary ownership for defining and managing product requirements related to implementing strong data sourcing controls and automating data acquisition from Authorized Data Sources for FINSAP ACS platform.
  • Translate complex business needs and evolving regulatory mandates into clear, actionable product requirements, Epics, user stories, and specifications for engineering teams, becoming the ultimate owner of the ART-level product backlog (Epics) in JIRA.
  • Demonstrate strong product leadership by influencing stakeholders, building consensus across diverse teams, and making data-informed decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Significant experience within Financial Automation space specifically in financial adjustments, accounting, financial reporting and close or similar financial automation services domains.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling digital and data products for institutional clients in financial services.
  • Proven track record in developing AI and Machine Learning solutions; and applying these technologies to solve real business problems for clients.
  • Strong product management competencies aligned with: product discovery, continuous delivery, stakeholder management, outcome-based thinking, and empowered product team leadership.
  • Proven ability to apply design thinking principles to complex problems, fostering innovative and human-centered solutions.
  • Proven track record in leading product development of digital client products from ideation through to execution and adoption.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/requirement backlogs simultaneously.
  • Thought leadership experience – via industry events, journals, and targeted articles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with experience in using data analysis to drive decision making.
  • Attention to detail is a must, with excellent verbal, written, and relationship skills to be used to interact with a global group

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience as Product Owner/ lead BA  in Financial Automation space.
  • Create business and functional requirements.
  • Help other developers, BA’s and QA leads to formulate testing/controls testing, wherever needed
  • Own the Financial Services Automation(finsap) project plans and current status
  • Conduct release retrospect meetings to continuously improve the process
  • Bridge the gap between development and business leads/user
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance Testers to ensure functionality meets expectations
  • Contribute ideas on technology and process to ensure the team is productive and successful
  • Own the documentation Wiki page for the project 
  • Work with Global team (Belfast, Florida Mumbai, Pune, Chennai) and open to attend  calls as needed
  • Demonstrated expertise in presenting and using planning tools
  • Proven diplomatic and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact by weighing various action plans and balancing potentially conflicting needs
  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective/efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates the ability to balance between seeing the "big picture" while paying close attention to detail.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed organizations with ability to influence without direct authority.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
