Title and Summary
Manager, Accounting
The Financial Services arm of Mastercard's Global Business Service Center (GBSC) is tasked with the mission to add value by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results.
As the Manager, Risk Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of account managers who are focused on maintaining and strengthening relationships with our valued global treasury & bank account stakeholders. Your role will involve providing strategic guidance, managing day-to-day operations, and driving exceptional customer service and satisfaction. You will work closely with internal & external stakeholders and collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient and effective account management processes, compliances, and risk mitigation.
Role & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:• Provide strong leadership to a team of bank administration professionals, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.• Motivate, coach, and develop team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.• Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer-centricity within the team.
Relationship Management:• Oversee and monitor the team's efforts in building and nurturing strong relationships with the global stakeholders and treasury team.• Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.• Collaborate with business finance officers and treasury team to identify and address their needs, concerns, and opportunities for growth.• Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues and complaints.
Bank Account Management Operations:• Develop and implement treasury policy, procedures, and best practices.• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team and individual performance, ensuring targets are met.• Analyse data and generate reports to provide insights into customer behaviour, trends, and opportunities.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to optimize account management processes and drive efficiency.• Leverage on automation to improve and achieve efficiency goals.
Risk Management and Compliance:• Ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations, policies, and procedures.• Monitor and mitigate risks associated with bank account management activities.• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to bank account management.
Communication and Collaboration:• Foster effective communication channels with internal stakeholders (BFO's, Controllers, Treasury team), including senior management, to align objectives and strategies.• Collaborate with other local finance and treasury team to streamline processes, resolve issues, and enhance the overall customer experience.• Participate in meetings, presentations, and training sessions as required.
All About You:• A qualified Chartered Accountant/CAIIB/ Company Secretary/ Lawyer.• Advanced degree in business, finance, or a related field. • 8+ years of experience in bank account management or a similar role, with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial position.• Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.• Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams.• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, stakeholders, and team members.• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of subledger and controlling accounts for AP, AR, Intercompany etc
