Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead the architecture strategy for workforce technologies that power employee productivity, collaboration, and digital experiences across the enterprise.
This highly visible leadership role will shape the responsible adoption of AI technologies, including Microsoft Copilot, while influencing the future of work at one of the world's leading financial institutions.
In this role, you will:
- Manage 5-10 architects while influencing architecture direction across a much broader technology organization.
- Lead architecture efforts for Workforce Technology, Legal, Public Affairs, and Platform Support, including business-domain architecture, target-state definition, capability alignment, platform strategy, integration patterns, and architecture governance.
- Help lead Workforce Technology through its still-early journey into the AI era, including providing architecture direction for Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI-enabled collaboration experiences, employee productivity tools, intelligent automation, and related Microsoft platforms.
- Provide architecture leadership for workforce technology areas that may include endpoint and hardware architecture, operating systems such as Windows 11, collaboration platforms and related employee experience capabilities.
- Lead domain architecture for new internal solutions supporting Legal and Public Affairs, including opportunities to incorporate AI into capabilities such as electronic discovery, legal workflow, document intelligence, knowledge retrieval, matter support, public affairs operations, communications workflows, and internal productivity solutions.
- Promote the use of AI-assisted prototyping and rapid solution validation techniques to evaluate architecture options, demonstrate business value, accelerate decision making, and reduce implementation risk.
- Guide architects in the responsible use of AI-enabled engineering tools, including tools such as GitHub Copilot, to develop proofs of concept, reference implementations, and architecture demonstrations that support strategic technology decisions.
- Partner closely with cyber security, technology risk, data, privacy, infrastructure, platform, engineering, product, and business teams to ensure AI-enabled solutions are secure, compliant, explainable where needed, properly governed, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Serve as a trusted architecture advisor to senior leaders, product teams, engineering teams, platform owners, and control partners.
- 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience.
- 5+ years of IT Architecture experience across enterprise. applications, SaaS, cloud, integration, or modernization initiatives.
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or related Microsoft technologies.
- 3+ years of ability to combine an architect's broad systems thinking with an engineer's hands-on mentality, technical curiosity, and delivery orientation.
- 2+ years of experience applying cybersecurity, risk, identity, data protection, privacy, and resiliency principles to architecture solutions.
- 1+ year of experience with AI, Generative AI, AI governance, intelligent automation, or machine learning-enabled solutions.
- Experience using AI-enabled engineering tools to improve architecture analysis, solution prototyping, technical documentation, testing, code generation support, or operational knowledge management.
- 2+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or technology resiliency practices.
- Experience within financial services, highly regulated business environments, large complex organizations, or enterprise technology controls.
- Experience with enterprise functions such as workforce technology, human resources technology, legal technology, public affairs, corporate communications, employee experience platforms, collaboration technology.
- Experience with endpoint, hardware, operating system, conference technology, end-user computing, or collaboration architecture.
- Experience presenting complex technical topics to senior executives in a clear, pragmatic, decision-oriented manner.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
