POSITION SUMMARY
The position is for a software engineer in the global credit and risk technology team to support the KKR business teams in London, Dublin, New York, San Francisco, etc. The role will be performed out of our offices in India and entails building and supporting trading, analytics and reporting systems; an opportunity to participate in all aspects of the application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, application development, and devising test cases, while working closely with traders, portfolio managers, analysts and users from a spectrum of business functions.
The ideal candidate would have a familiarity or strong interest in financial investment and experience or strong desire in doing full-stack development using the modern technology stack. The candidate must have excellent programming and data management skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, and be a cultural fit with an emphasis on teamwork, excellence and results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with business users (Traders, Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Finance/Compliance professionals, Operations, etc) and perform Requirements analysis, application design and implementation
- Develop systems that are larger multi-tier applications and frameworks to simpler reports
- Ensure high focus on testing in the form of building proper unit and regression tests
- Work with team-members to interface and integrate with other systems
- Leverage and help evolve existing frameworks and toolsets
- Align and add to the culture and overall vision/mission of the team
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years or equivalent of programming experience
- Understanding of programming design concepts, data structures, and ability to analyze complex algorithms
- Experience with modern development methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; detail oriented
- Strong cultural fit – Teamwork, proactive/self-starter, results oriented and integrity
- Strong experience in developing applications in Python.
- Knowledge of relational databases, and other data storage solutions, experience with SQL
- Familiarity with front-end libraries/frameworks (Javascript, ReactJS preferred)
- Understanding of the API development with HTTP, REST and JSON (Python-Fastapi/Flask/Django)
- Working knowledge of Linux, Docker/Kubernetes
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
- Strong understanding of standard & third-party Python libraries such as pandas, numpy
- Experience in one or more of bank loans/leveraged loans, fixed-income products, CLOs, derivatives, ABS and CMBS products
- Experience in or readiness to learn building applications using the modern technology stack: Cloud/AWS, DevOps, Go-lang etc.
