Position Overview:Reporting directly to the Mining Technology Project Execution Manager, the Technology Coordinator serves as a conduit between internal and external stakeholders supporting the Mining Technology Project Team. The role coordinates technology implementation activities, customer and workforce schedules, material readiness, service administration, and project documentation to support safe, organized, and timely execution.
Active across Mining Technology project sales, implementation, installation, and operational handover, the Technology Coordinator helps maintain Finning's commitment to customer satisfaction by strengthening communication, process discipline, and execution visibility.

Job Description:
  • Responsible for determining the number of activities needed to be planned by Mining Technology and the Branches, and the communication of this information to the Branches required to execute work

  • Enable rapid expansion in Mining technology

  • Work with the branches to assess capabilities and availability

  • Work with Finning Canada service excellence to understand current services processes and leverage these to achieve Mining targets

  • Reporting of all Customers and the progress of the Implementation projects

  • Build a process to notify business areas of the incoming service work required

  • Track Purchase Sale Orders (PSO) and Service Enabled attachments (SEA) assignments when required

  • Work in conjunction with the business to implement solutions to ensure objectives are met for installation, commissioning, support, and upgrades of equipment as part of Finning’s Bold Goals

  • Accountable for ensuring the correct parts for the installations of equipment are on order, in stock and allocated to the appropriate branches

  • Communicating with Caterpillar as it relates to any issues associated with Mining Technology

  • Follow-up on parts orders as well as parts returns

  • Understand and provide information for warranty purposes

  • Plan future parts and kits orders

  •  Support project sales and implementation activities by preparing schedules, reports, RFP/RFQ content, presentations, and implementation documentation.

  • Create, track, review, pre-approve, prepare for submission, and confirm receipt of post-sale credit requests to Caterpillar.

  • Own and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) for Command conversions and coordinate ordering requests.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Business, Project Management and Supply Chain)

  • Minimum 3-5 years of operations, project management or supply chain

  • Experience in a related business environment 

  • Knowledge of various office programs MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience in mining operations, autonomous solutions, heavy equipment, dealership operations, or technology implementation is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of various office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and other programs which include Adobe, Lawson, Saleslink and Caterpillar applications including SIMSi.

  • Project Management Skills – Planning and Executing of Projects
