We’re Alfa, the leading provider of software to the global asset finance industry. We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious graduates to join us in the next phase of our journey. 

Our two-year long technology consulting graduate programme involves an intensive training induction covering the asset finance industry, software development and consultancy skills, before being assigned to rotational placements, working across our client project teams further developing Consultancy, Functional and Technical skills. 

Supervised at all times by more experienced colleagues, new joiners will find that the open culture means they have easy access to senior managers and directors for discussion and guidance. From the very start of their career, our graduates will either help take our product, Alfa Systems, forward or help to change the way our clients' businesses work.

The initial training period is a three stage programme, delivered by your new Alfa colleagues ranging from junior to senior-level. During training, we will teach you about our company, our culture and our product, before you move into a team and learn yet more whilst on the job.

During the Alfa Graduate Programme you’ll dive into a range of learning experiences including:

Consulting: 

You’ll become a key player as a Consultant, elevating your career to new heights! As a graduate, you'll have the opportunity to hone your presentation, communication, collaboration and negotiation skills while working alongside our industry-leading talent on innovative technical implementation projects. Our vibrant work environment encourages continuous learning and growth, empowering you to transform complex challenges into strategic solutions. Dive into a role where your contributions drive real impact, and your professional development is our priority. 

Technical:

Java development, analysis and design - becoming proficient in Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Database design SQL (specifically PostgreSQL), Cloud (specifically AWS), React, API design with REST, GraphQL, and asynchronous events. Together we’ll build your skills in solution engineering and architecture, automated testing, performant design and performance analysis.

Functional: 

Accounting, asset finance, business process design, management information reporting design, issue triage and management, data analysis and migration - all skills we’ll hone in functional roles!

What we look for in our graduates: 

Although the job entails technology and finance, we don’t require our graduates to have extensive experience in coding or come from a technical or financial background. Our training teaches you all you need to know, but your interest in technology and finance areas must be genuine and you must be able to demonstrate this during the application process. Whilst we consider applications from all disciplines, a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related business and STEM fields and some experience in programming may help. 

The ideal Alfa recruit has the ability to see an end goal, break down the steps to get there, and put in the effort to achieve it. Any hard-working and ambitious graduate can be successful as long as you have a logical mind, enjoy working as part of a team, have pride in your work, and see your career immersed in the worlds of both technology and finance.

We do have to set some minimum requirements that you must meet in order to apply, which are: 

·         Achieved all As and Bs at A-level (or equivalent)*
·         Achieved or be on course to achieving a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above in any discipline*
·         The permanent right to work in the UK without restrictions (Alfa cannot offer visa sponsorship, so your application will not be processed if this applies to you) 

*We take extenuating circumstances into account so please mention this in your application if this applies to you

Our application process is simple. We feel we can best get to know you through conversations, so we won’t ask you to jump through hoops and undertake psychometric tests or attend assessment centres. If you are interested:

The next stage is a three part interview process made up of:

·        First Round Interview (Zoom but without cameras) - A short call with a representative from across the business
·         Second Round Interview (Zoom) - One hour interview, usually with a member of HR and a representative from across the business 
·         Final Round Interview (Zoom) - One hour interview with two members of senior management
