We are looking for a Technical Writer with strong information development, content design, and editorial skills. You will join our Content Experience team to set up, configure, validate, and develop content for our best-in-class AI-powered data security and management solutions that are powering the market adoption and growth of our revolutionary Software-defined and SaaS offerings. Your skills will be essential to accelerate and expand our rapidly growing business.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Create and continually improve world-class product documentation for software, hardware, cloud, and developer tools.

  • Deliver an exceptional Out of the Box Experience (OOBE) for customers through UX content design, product tours, in-app help, and product documentation.

  • Act as the “first customer” for Cohesity products and features to ensure that your technical content provides the very best user experience.

  • Develop intent-based and topic-based technical content that can be consumed by LLMs and end users.

  • Write user-friendly technical content that explains complex information clearly, concisely, and without jargon.

  • Prioritize multiple requirements and tasks in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment.

  • Manage the complete life cycle of production, publication, and technical information.

  • Acknowledge and address documentation feedback from internal and external customers to deliver complete, accurate, and usable content.

  • Exceptional Writer: Proven experience in both business-to-business and consumer content, with a portfolio that demonstrates clean, compelling, and conversational writing.

  • Customer Empathy: Ability to research and develop customer-focused content, with a deep understanding of audience needs and interests.

  • Collaboration: You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, share knowledge openly, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment. You understand that great documentation is a team effort and actively support your peers to achieve shared goals.

  • Visual Thinker: Ability to present and explain complex content visually through schematics, block diagrams, animations, and gifs as appropriate.

  • Always a student: Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and sourcing reputable information for instructional content. Your ability to learn and adapt ensures that you can create accurate and timely documentation even in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Autonomy & Initiative: Works independently with minimal supervision, quickly developing independence in new tasks and exercising good judgment. You don’t wait for instructions, you identify gaps, propose solutions, and take ownership of tasks. You proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, enhance content quality, and deliver exceptional user experiences.

  • Versatility: Adapts quickly to changing requirements, communicates impacts, negotiates next steps, and supports change to achieve team and organizational goals. AI Enthusiast. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and discover content.

Skills and Experience:
Required:

  • Education - BS or BA. English, Computer Science or Engineering

  • Experience – 2 to 9 years of experience in Technical Writing; developing software and hardware documentation for global customers.

Tools:

  • Authoring/Publishing - MadCap Flare/MadCap Central or experience in any one of the topic-based/DITA-based authoring tools such as Oxygen XML, XMetal, Framemaker (structured).

  • Source/version control - Git/Gerrit, GitHub, Bitbucket, or experience using other source control/repo management tools.

  • Feature/Defect Management - Jira, Rally, or any industry-standard, agile project/defect management software.

  • Collaboration and Process Management - Confluence, Wiki

  • Productivity and Chatbots – Experience leveraging LLMs or AI-powered assistants for documentation process efficiency or implementing/using customer-facing AI chatbots for content discoverability.

Good to have:

  • Web-based or DITA-based authoring and publishing tools

  • Familiarity with cloud, data management, security, or AI technologies.

  • Content delivery using Continuous integration and delivery approach

  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and HTM5 help systems

  • Ability to create new video content

In-Office Expectations
Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
