Technical Team Lead, Cloud


As a Technical Team Lead, you will utilize your expertise and experience to architect, design, develop and deploy solutions for an array of Cloud technologies. In addition, a Technical Team Lead can drive a collaborative team by leading, mentoring and ensuring development efforts that are well documented and delivered with quality, owning the overall outcome of projects. A Team Lead is a highly experienced field professional, who combines an excellent breadth of knowledge across open-source, enterprise and cloud technologies with a proven track record of delivery. They are expected to exhibit a high degree of commercial awareness along with exceptional communication skills. They are entrusted to lead large engagements with our most technically complex and demanding customers and can be called upon for escalations into other accounts. There is an expectation of some travel and after-hours/weekend support in the event of major outages/issues, or when requested by the client for change windows (or similar events).

Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions and thought leadership for customers using major Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Provide technical leadership to junior staff in the form of coaching, mentoring, and feedback
  • Supporting customers with core technologies used for Managed Services offerings
  • Lead and oversee end-to-end cloud migration projects for our clients on the Microsoft Azure platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and efficient migration processes
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with cloud migrations
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and technical requirements
  • Architect scalable and secure cloud solutions aligned with clients' goals and industry best practices
  • Stay abreast of the latest Azure cloud offerings and recommend suitable technologies to meet client needs
  • Assist with team building through interviewing, on-boarding, and aligning technical resources
  • Leading the creation of documentation and written deliverables
  • Act as a consultant during client meetings, performing both business and technical discoveries
  • Engage with clients to understand their pain points, requirements, and desired outcomes
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business challenges
  • Obtain and maintain expert-level certifications and/or advanced training

Qualifications

  • Customer-facing role for a minimum of 5+ years
  • 7+ years designing, securing, and deploying large-scale applications and solutions
  • Proven experience with the Azure platform leading architecture, development, access, and migration work
  • Effectively communicate with, and present to all levels of the organization
  • Architect-level development skills in at least one development language (Java, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills (coaching, mentoring, technical leadership), especially for virtual and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively
  • Consultant mindset with the ability to engage with clients at both business and technical levels
  • Subject matter expert on the Azure Cloud platform
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Strong project and situational awareness 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Self-starter 
  • Well organized
  • Able to travel as required

  • Drive scoping, planning, and methodology for critical projects
  • Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards, and / or plans 
  • Demonstrate passion for technology by being an early adopter of new certifications and/or advanced training
  • Lead client pre-sales workshops/briefings for key strategic accounts; provide latest tech updates, discuss product/services roadmaps, highlight innovative industry solutions and case studies
  • Able to take ownership of a technology community to help provide content, drive speakers, attendance, collaboration, and deliver a sense of community to a distributed workforce
  • Be a sounding board for other technical consultants who need to collaborate on a problem
