Technical Support Specialist T&M

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Technical Support Manager and according to general company policies, you will provide customers with technical assistance via telephone, email, web conference, or on-site. You will be asked to specialize on all Fiber-Optic Test and measurement products. In addition to traditional technical support, field service, commissioning and on-site training will give you an opportunity to work face to face with EXFO customers and be a significant part of your overall contribution. You will also have the opportunity to support for all EXFO Wireline products such as Transport and Datacom products in EXFO.

For common problems and issues of moderate complexity, you should be able to handle these with little or no assistance. For more complex issues, you are expected to take a leadership role in managing the customer concern and to liaise with other departments to deliver a solution to the customer’s problem.

This is a challenging position where you will be a member of a medium-sized satellite support center, located in Beijing, China. Frequent travel will be required within China and periodically outside China.

这是一个很具挑战性的职位，工作地点是EXFO在北京设立的支持中心，需要经常在国内出差，偶尔需要国外出差。

Perform other duties as the Company may authorize or assign from time to time.

Technical competencies

技术能力要求

-Excellent computer skills, particularly with Windows OS, debugging OS problems

-精通计算机操作，尤其是 Windows 操作系统和操作系统问题调试

-Excellent knowledge of fiber-optic test and measurement instrumentation

-精通光纤测试与测量仪器、仪表

-Excellent knowledge of good fiber handling and fiber installation procedures and practices.

-熟练掌握光纤处理以及光纤安装程序

-Hands on experience using power meter, light source, OTDR, Optical spectrum analyzer and dispersion measurement equipment

-有实际使用光功率计、光源、OTDR、光谱分析仪和色散测量设备的经验

-Programming skills with C#, Labview, Python and common scripting languages, is an asset

-具备C#、Labview 、Python和常用脚本语言的编程技能更佳

-Knowledge of Sonet/SDH，OTN，Ethernet testing instrumentation is an asset.

-熟悉 SONET/SDH 、OTN和以太网测试仪器更佳。

Education: College diploma in computer science, electronics, optics or physics, or telecommunications

Pertinent experience: 2 years in a technical service or internal support environment

相关经验：2年技术服务或内部支持工作经验

Language requirements:  Excellent written and spoken English & Chinese
