Non-exempt position. Expected to maintain bench competencies and work at the bench for at least 50% of time worked. Function independently and collaboratively with the laboratory leadership in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. Perform a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and act as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. May be responsible for instrument correlation, and method validation. Correlate data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. Participate in laboratory quality assurance programs and performance improvement activities. Assist with staff and student training, orientation of new employees, updating procedures, and providing technical leadership for areas of responsibility. Provide direction and problem solving skills for laboratory functions. Implement standardization efforts in the laboratory as directed by laboratory leadership.

QualificationsBaccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, or appropriate health related field.
Prior to July 2026, associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Histotechnology with completion of a clinical internship also acceptable.
An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
One year of experience actively working in a moderate or high complexity clinical laboratory.
