Position Overview
The Technical Specialist, Emerging Technologies is a technical sales professional responsible for introducing, validating, and scaling Autodesk’s Emerging Technologies across Large, Midmarket, and Territory customers. Operating in a hybrid Autodesk led and partner led engagement model, this role focuses on pipeline creation, opportunity qualification, adoption readiness, and partner enablement.
The role sits at the intersection of innovation and scale, where success is defined by the ability to responsibly position new technologies, qualify opportunities effectively, enable sellers and partners, and reduce technical and adoption risk through disciplined validation. The Senior Associate independently executes defined emerging solution engagements across multiple accounts, leads standard discovery and demonstrations, supports pilots, and contributes to opportunity qualification.
Responsibilities
Customer Advising & Qualification
Independently lead standard discovery and qualification conversations
Translate customer needs into validation assumptions, technical requirements, and next steps
Demonstrations & Technical Storytelling
Deliver tailored demonstrations aligned to customer readiness and defined value hypotheses
Address basic objections related to solution fit, capability, and readiness.
Solution Design, Validation & Risk MitigationSupport pilot engagements with clearly defined success criteria and documented outcomes
Identify, document, and escalate technical, adoption, or readiness risks as appropriate
Commercial & Enablement Support
Contribute technical inputs to business cases, proposals, and opportunity documentation
Support onboarding and enablement of partners and SP1 level peers
Skills & Capabilities
Technical & Domain Expertise: Working knowledge of Emerging Technologies and early stage workflows
Demonstration & Storytelling: Independent execution of discovery, demos, and qualification activities
Customer Discovery & Qualification: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Collaboration & Influence: Effective engagement with sales, partners, and internal technical stakeholders
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner closely with Sales teams (AEs, ARs, Sales Specialists) and Customer Success Managers
Align with Account Technical Leads (ATLs) through preparation, documentation, and follow up
Coordinate with Partners to support hybrid execution models
Engage Product or Engineering teams as needed to support validation and feedback loops
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, customer success, or a related technical customer facing role
Experience leading customer discovery conversations and delivering technical demonstrations
Ability to support pilots, proof points, or validation activities for new or emerging solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into customer value
Experience collaborating with sales teams and partners in a hybrid go to market model
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Emerging Technologies, early-stage products, or innovation focused solutions
und in SaaS, cloud, platform, or subscription-based technology environments
Familiarity with technical validation frameworks, adoption readiness assessments, or pilot success criteria
Experience supporting partner enablement or partner led technical engagements
Exposure to contributing technical inputs into commercial proposals or business cases
Prior experience working cross functionally with Product or Engineering teams
