Technical Specialist/Course Manager (South Branch)
 
Highly skilled Service Technicians with demonstrated leadership, presentation and organizational skills are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to serve as Abel Womack’s South Branch Technical Specialist/Course Manager.  The candidate will need to reside in the NY territory and travel throughout the state. There will also be occasional travel to the Edgewood, Wallingford and Lawrence locations. The Technical Specialist will be directly responsible for the technical support and training of technicians, ensuring that a consistent and professional level of technical service can be provided by all Service staff. 
 
The Technical Specialist/Course Manager will:
  • Initiate and complete new Technician Initial PIT Licensing; monitor and orchestrate timely PIT Licensing renewals for current technicians; and perform annual reviews of PIT-related OSHA regulations.  
  • Train technicians and schedule yearly training as required, to include follow-up audits for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide Technician Technical support, remotely and onsite. Serve as liaison between technician and manufacturers' field support for resolution of technical issues.
  • Maintain and report technician tier and certification information for branch Service Managers and on Raymond Technician Training Website.
  • Review monthly Technical Update notifications and distribute to relevant in-house Customer Service Manager(s) monthly.
  • Support manufacturers’ software, computer issues to resolution.
  • Maintain manufacturers’ Maintenance/Parts Library and distribute as requested.
  • Develop Standard Work Practices and conduct audits for installation of manufacturers equipment.
  • Maintain required manufacturers Special Service Tools and track location and usage.
  • Conduct Technician quality audits as requested by Service Management team.
  • Conduct investigation for exception warranties and test parts for failure on denied warranties.
  • Review Manufacturers Projects and monitors to completion.
  • Attend Manufacturers conferences and share vital information to the Parts and Service Groups as required.
  • Monitor and Administer Manufacturers Modification requests.
  • Advise on changes required to sensitive procedures and information.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications for the position include:
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated advanced capability with maintenance and technical repair of powered industrial truck equipment, required. Raymond Tier 4-5 certification preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience repairing/maintaining industrial lift equipment preferred.
  • Experience providing hands-on technical training and support required.  Formal training and mentoring/coaching experience helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to deliver technical training in a one-to-one capacity and also to groups, in formal and informal settings, required.   
  • Strong presentation skills required, including the ability to interpret and present complex information to individuals and groups, in a variety of settings including classrooms, virtual platforms, on the phone and through one-to-one coaching.
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills, required
  • Positive attitude, well-groomed professional appearance required.  Must be a team player.
  • Must possess solid organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
  • Must be able to manage paperwork and documentation.
  • Solid demonstrated internal and external customer service skills required. 
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence using a computer to create documents, enter data, and research information, required.  Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to implement and execute a follow-up/resolution system. 
  • Must be a self-starter with the ambition to create and implement continuous improvements to the function.
  • Some overnight/weeklong travel required.
