Purpose of the Position:
We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient analyst to bridge business operations and engineering. The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem-solver who takes ownership of critical Newsroom systems and business applications, combining the technical depth to drive discussions with the organisational skills to manage project lifecycles and reliable user support.
In this role, you will:
- Project Management & System Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle and long-term evolution of Newsroom and Business Systems. Proactively conduct discovery and analysis to prioritise enhancement requests and propose solutions for system optimisation. Regularly document and present project progress to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Technical Alignment: Act as a technical liaison between business users, product owners, and engineering teams. Translate functional needs into structured technical requirements and logic mappings that provide stakeholders with clear, actionable guidance.
- System Support & Incident Management: Serve as a dedicated point of contact for system support and incident management, including off-hours assistance to ensure production continuity. Beyond timely troubleshooting, maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge base and user documentation to facilitate long-term system stability and seamless information sharing.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical business analysis, system analysis, IT project management or technology consulting.
- Ability to understand complex system logic and architecture to translate business needs into structured technical requirements, serving as a proactive bridge between Product Owners and Engineering, capable of managing priorities and technical pushback.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with APIs (REST/JSON) or basic programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of the Agile SDLC and a proven ability to manage project lifecycles independently, including professional documentation and presentation of progress.
- Relevant certifications in Project Management or Business Analysis are a plus.
- A high sense of responsibility and the flexibility to provide off-hours support for business-critical systems.
- Experience in the media industry and familiarity with Content Management Systems and data analytics is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is beneficial.
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
