Job Title: Technical SEO & Website Lead
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Location: Bangalore, India. (Onsite)
Key Relationships: Marketing, Engineering, Product, Business Support.

Job Purpose: 
We are seeking a talented technical SEO specialist responsible for optimizing our website's stability, health, and performance—improving our visibility in search engines and increasing content discoverability and conversion rates. Working within Easyship's global marketing team, you'll have the opportunity to take the lead on a range of technical website and programmatic content projects to scale and accelerate our organic search results. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in technical and programmatic SEO, CMS migration and management, reverse proxy configuration, and site architecture best practices, including the practical skills and vision to push our existing website infrastructure and content formats to the next level.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct comprehensive technical SEO and website audits to identify issues, prioritize opportunities for improvement, and lead the implementation of these optimizations
  • Analyze website traffic, search trends, internal linking structures, localization, and indexation data to identify and action practical website or content enhancements
  • Optimize site architecture, URLs, and internal linking for improved search engine visibility for both static content and complex programmatic pages
  • Conduct detailed keyword research to understand traffic potential and identify and plan new content opportunities, prioritizing high-impact topics and themes that align with business services and goals. 
  • Monitor and enhance website load speeds and mobile responsiveness to consistently improve page performance and core web vitals
  • Stay up to date with SEO industry trends, content opportunities, and algorithm changes to ensure website infrastructure, site architecture, and content is optimized
  • Implement advanced technical SEO optimizations, including schema markup, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, log file analysis, and effective crawl budget management
  • Leverage SEO tools like Search Console, GA4, SEMRush, SurferSEO, and more to research and analyze keywords and topical themes, categorize opportunities and content gaps, monitor competitor activity, and guide content marketing efforts 
  • Monitor and report on website, organic search, and SEO performance across the funnel, from overall SERP visibility and impressions to marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and subscription revenue
  • Closely collaborate with engineers, web developers, and the broader marketing team to implement SEO best practices based on documented technical and content frameworks

Please note that this is a practical and hands-on role. You will be responsible for the identification, prioritization, and successful delivery of technical SEO and website optimization enhancements that effectively maintain and grow our organic search visibility, visitation, and performance.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of experience in SEO and website management (agency or in-house)
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms with deep technical SEO expertise and proven experience in managing and optimizing large, complex websites
  • Ability to manage and implement advanced technical SEO optimizations including schema markup, robots.txt, XML sitemaps and log file analysis utilizing a suite of SEO tools (i.e. Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, etc)
  • Expertise in technical troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex SEO issues, including indexation problems, crawl and website errors, algorithm penalties, and duplicate content issues
  • Experience in international SEO, including implementing ‘hreflang’ tags, managing subdomains for different markets, and geotargeting in Google Search Console
  • Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and core web development principles
  • High data proficiency, analytical skills, and ability to utilize SQL to navigate, source, combine, and analyze complex datasets
  • Proficiency in conducting site audits, analyzing performance metrics, and delivering practical improvements to enhance page speed and core web vitals metrics.
