The Microsoft 365 Copilot team is seeking a Technical Senior Product Marketing, Microsoft 365 Copilot to drive technical product marketing across our Microsoft 365 Copilot portfolio. In this role, you will develop deep expertise in product truth across user experiences, capabilities, integrations, and platform requirements. You’ll translate complex technical concepts into clear, user‑centric messaging that connects product capabilities to real business outcomes for both technical and non‑technical audiences. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to validate claims, document how things work (and where they don’t), and develop proof points and scenarios that make it easy for customers to understand the value of Copilot and why it’s different. A core part of this role is conducting and synthesizing product evaluations, including deep exploration of Microsoft 365 Copilot and similar AI solutions, demo and workflow comparisons, scenario-based testing, and documentation of strengths, limitations, and customer implications. This role is ideal for a technical marketer who enjoys getting into the details and can still tell a clear, compelling story.

Responsibilities
  • Own technical product positioning and messaging for the­ Microsoft 365 Copilot portfolio that’s grounded in product truth, customer needs, and competitive reality.
  • Build deep product expertise by partnering with engineering and PM to understand architecture, integrations, dependencies, limitations, functionality, and roadmap direction and translate that into simple, accurate narratives.
  • Lead product-truth validation for customer-facing assets (web, demos, core content) and ensure claims are specific, testable, and aligned to current state.
  • Shape product experiences by bringing customer feedback, market signals, and competitive learnings into readiness and prioritization discussions.
  • Develop technical storytelling frameworks that help audiences understand “how it works” and “why it matters,” especially for IT, decision makers, and end users.
  • Partner with the storytelling te­­am to evolve our messaging and assets (e.g., narrative briefs, value propositions, talk tracks, demo story arcs, FAQs, and objection handling) that tell a consistent, differentiated Copilot story across various channels.
  • Lead evaluations by analyzing workflow comparisons, demo replications, feature and capability assessments, strengths/limitations, and observed customer implications into clear guidance for Copilot positioning, messaging, and readiness.
  • Partner with sales and customer-facing teams to learn from real evaluations and deployments and surface adoption blockers, admin concerns, and technical objections and drive improvements in messaging and readiness.

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field AND 3+ years experience in business 
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field AND 5+ years experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or technical communications
    • OR equivalent experience
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

  • Experience marketing AI-powered products, platforms, or productivity/cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, security/compliance, identity, collaboration, analytics)
  • Experience creating technical collateral and presenting to technical audiences (e.g., whitepapers, reference architectures, conference talks, technical deep dives, or hands-on workshops)
  • Demonstrated ability to craft technical product narratives that translate complex products and workflows into clear, outcome‑driven customer stories
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills with product management, engineering, design, and sales/field stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep product expertise and translate complex systems into accurate, differentiated messaging for both business and technical audiences
  • Experience validating product claims with engineering/PM partners and creating technical proof points (e.g., how-it-works explanations, evaluation guidance, limitations/constraints, and admin/IT considerations)
  • Competitive analysis skills, including the ability to understand competitor workflows and positioning and translate that into clear differentiation
  • Experience representing products externally through technical sessions (conferences, webinars, customer briefings) and building content that scales through partners and the community
  • Customer-obsessed mindset, with the ability to ground product truth in real customer needs, constraints, and adoption blockers
  • Ability to balance long-term narrative intent with near-term execution; comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and creating clarity through writing
  • Hands-on experience performing product and competitive evaluations or teardowns, including demo replication, scenario testing, workflow comparisons, and documenting strengths, limitations, and evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience creating or influencing technical demos, test plans, and evaluation frameworks; comfort working with prompt-based or scenario-based products
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT concerns (security, privacy, compliance, admin controls, deployment/change management) and ability to reflect these nuances in messaging
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive alignment across teams, while working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong bias for action

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
