Drives Goal Zero by providing technical safety engineering assessments & support in Hazards and Effects Management Processes, risk assessments, tools and support of assurance framework in managing the process safety risks for SMEP assets. This is a 2 years contract role.
Principal Accountabilities
- Support the asset business functions to deliver Shell's global commitments for Technical Safety excellence.
- Provide advice on specific risk assessments, deliver HEMP assessments (physical effects modeling, major hazard assessment), and application of HSE ALARP framework.
- Participate in audits and technical safety reviews such as Process Safety Review (PSR), HAZOP, HAZID, HBA, PSUA, IOAIA, AIPSM review, annual management review etc.
- Drive the develop, review and update of Operations HSE Case and HSSE related documentation.
- Provide support to TSE Technical Authority in assurance of relevant SCE integrity against performance standards.
- Provide support to TSE Technical Authority in MOC reviews and risk assessments.
- Participate in incident investigation when required and provide advice on Sphera reporting.
- Participate in analysis of Process Safety Events in LOPC incidents.
- Provide advice and review on safety studies and drawings e.g. Fire Water Demand, Escape Routes, Fire Fighting and Life Saving Equipment Layout, Hazardous Area Classification, QRA, FERA, EERA etc.
- Support the implementation of Process Safety Fundamentals (PSFs) in SMEP (as a PSF ambassador) and AIPSM leadership workshops (as co-facilitator).
- Support digitalisation of HEMP processes e.g. HAZOP
- Provide technical safety support for Project to Asset (PTA) handover on behalf of Assets.
- Provide support in delivering and monitoring HSSE Plan and goals.
Dimensions
- Based in Bintulu on a 2 years contract.
- Expected to collaborate and manage interfaces with key stakeholders such as Asset, production and maintenance managers, OIMs, Technical Authorities and discipline engineers, HSSE, Projects and contractor staff as required.
- Occasional travels to Offshore or Field for familiarization and delivery of tasks.
Special Challenges
- Work seamlessly with various asset partners and engineers to ensure compliance with SEAM Standards, Control Framework and technical safety requirements.
- Must be prepared to influence and challenge Assets/Projects in meeting standards and to demonstrate ALARP in their operations.
- Ready to deal with multiple conflicting goals/priorities in an environment of many competing priorities and diverse activities.
Experience and Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering fresh graduate, must be 26 years old and below as of 31 Dec 2025
- Good Collaboration skills in order to work well in team environment.
- Demonstrate passion in taking up a Technical Safety Engineering role to support Company’s Goal Zero No Harm No Leaks aspirations.
- Demonstrate proactive behaviour & leadership through continuous engagement with all stakeholders.
- Motivated and resilient under pressure.
