Job Description

General Responsibility

The Technical Project Manager is an integrated part of the project management team (PM, Software PM, and Sub-PMs) with broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software to take ownership of overall technical scope coordination and validation of the project (internal/external).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads the technical, design, and integration process to fulfil technical standards of BG and the customer contract - from the contract signed till project closure.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the Customer, the stakeholders, and the partners (e.g., suppliers, consultants, etc.) on technical aspects of the project.
  • Defines, plans, and monitors simulation and testing of the system - ensuring that contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Responsible with the project manager to ensure transparent and open communication of technical and commercial points within the project.
  • Manages and coordinates technical interface aspects of the project, including building interfaces to the client and external suppliers.
  • Co-responsible for cost (incl. cost improvement), time, and quality of the project. Evaluates the technical and financial impact of decisions.
  • Liaises with the procurement team for the creation and review of detailed purchase orders, including technical specifications and scope of supply.
  • Co-responsible for the requirements management process with a focus on technical requirements, including gathering/ mapping/ traceability with stakeholders.
  • Analyses requirements, defines technical specifications and assesses technical changes and overall technical and financial impact.
  • Leads identification, assessment, and mitigation of technical project risks.
  • Reviews technical documents prior to submission to customer for approval.
  • Co-responsible for gate/sub-gate meetings points the fulfilment of technical tasks and ensure to collect technical related lessons learned.
  • Co-responsible for the quality of final O&M and training documentation to customer support.
  • Technical support to the site during installation, commissioning, and final testing.
  • Direct involvement in the specification approval, design, production, installation, and commissioning of project execution.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or similar technical field preferred or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 10 years' combined experience in engineering, installing, commissioning, and testing logistics or similar technology systems.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience directly leading project team members and coordinating with other project disciplines.

Certifications/Licenses

  • PMP Certification is required or must obtain PMI/PMP Certification within one year of hire.

Commitment Required

  • Able to set and meet goals; sincere care for others; overwhelming desire to win and to be part of a winning team
  • Must be able and willing to travel to job sites, as required up to 50% of the time.
