You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

Job Summary:

Apptronik’s Next-Gen Systems team is looking for a Project Manager with technical background who is interested in working with a fast-paced and high-growth team. Our perfect candidate is very organized, communicates well in all mediums, and can manage the day-to-day team operations using readily available tools. While prior experience in a startup environment and/or heavily technical team are a plus, we are open to any experienced project manager who can fulfill our requirements. In this role, you will play a key part in rapidly developing and iterating robotic systems, bringing concepts and prototypes to customer delivery. We are a small, lean startup, so your work will span a variety of tasks, from owning the team’s schedule to procurement and fulfillment. This job is looking for someone who can come in with useful skills to organize the team and subsequently grow to be a leader in the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for robotics development and deployment. 
  • Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams of robotics engineers, software developers, and mechanical designers to ensure seamless collaboration and project milestones are met. 
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical challenges, resource constraints, and timeline delays. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions. 
  • Task-Level Execution: Manage day to day task execution of operational needs including vendor management, procurement, etc.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, optimize resource utilization, and ensure cost-effective delivery without compromising quality. 
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, progress updates, and post-project lessons learned. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements by leveraging lessons learned and adopting best practices in project management and robotics development.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus. 
  • Experience: 
    • 5+ years of project management experience in a technical field, with at least 3 years focused on robotics, automation, or related technologies. 
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, technical projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and methodologies (Agile/ Waterfall).
  • Soft Skills: 
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders. 
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • Accredited degree in a relevant technical or management field. 
  • Experience in Systems Engineering to input in design, integration, and testing, ensuring technical specifications align with project goals. 
  • Experience with relevant robotics standards (e.g., ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative robots). 
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or computer vision in robotics applications.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to travel to project sites, client locations, or manufacturing facilities as needed. 
  • Occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 40 pounds.
