About your role

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for program management of large software initiatives of the company. You will collaborate closely with partners across our engineering, product, design, quality assurance, operations and platform teams to establish program plans and drive all stages of the software development and release. You will be responsible for ensuring alignment among the cross-functional teams and ensure that the project plans are executed effectively meeting customer commitments. You will collaborate with the development team and product managers and drive program planning taking cross functional, internal and external dependencies into consideration.

You will also support the PMO's efforts to standardize processes and tools for continuous improvement, including contributing to governance, metrics, process adherence, and status reporting as part of the PMO charter.

You will demonstrate a good understanding of AI concepts, knowledge of tools and techniques in the AI space, ability to adopt AI tools for day-to-day program management by automating, scripting, customizing artifacts for quick turnaround when needed. Working knowledge and hands-on experience of writing scripts or using AI software and tools to extract data from internal tools including Jira and Confluence, into spreadsheets to analyze and generate metrics for R&D department. In short, you will be the AI thought leader for the PMO organization.

What you’ll do:
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, Design and platform teams to gather requirements and dependencies, drive estimation and schedule discussions with engineering and establish the program plan

  • Along with engineering, work closely with stakeholders in other teams and departments including site reliability engineering, user experience, customer support, customer success and leadership teams if required for program planning

  • Work closely with third party software teams to identify engineering dependencies of the program and document them. Set clear expectations and track the dependencies closely with third parties where applicable.

  • Create artifacts and establish the execution framework, say agile scrum ceremonies for day to day program management.

  • Providing regular and timely updates to stakeholders including senior leadership on program status; ensure risks are monitored, managed and mitigated from time to time. Demonstrate ability to apply processes where needed. e.g. use change management process for changing scope or timelines

  • Ensure that products are delivered on time meeting the relevant metrics criteria established by the group.

  • Ensure project documentation is taken up on a regular basis

  • Contribute to roadmap planning exercise and use prior experience to help identify potential challenges

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent educational qualification

  • 8 to 10 years of total experience in the industry, and 5+ years of experience in technical program management of complex and large programs spanning multiple cross-functional teams

  • Deep understanding of the product development process, the product lifecycle, and technical program management

  • Experience with project management tools like Atlassian suite, Microsoft Project Plan, Smart Sheets, or equivalent

  • Experience with scripting (Python basics) for analyzing data in spreadsheets

  • Experience with using AI tools to gain efficiency

  • Experience with automation of data extraction from Jira via scripts and further analysis

  • Experience in Agile SCRUM framework and understanding of SAFe concepts

  • Experience in working cross-functionally with product management, user experience, customer success, customer support, operations teams and any cross-functional partners (e.g. sales, marketing, legal, etc.) within the company

  • Experience with program and project governance concepts and tools for budgeting, vendor management, compliance and metrics

  • Professional credentials like PMI PMP, ACP, CSM will be a plus

  • You must be self-driven, flexible with working with counterparts in other geographies, and adaptable
