Reports to: VP, Program Management
Job Overview: The Technical Program Manager provides support and/or leads teams through the Engineering development process. As a member of the Engineering team, the TPM is expected to drive and motivate the cross-functional team to deliver the product. This role reports to VP, Business Development and Product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project planning, scheduling, tracking, and resource coordination for engineering programs.
- Communicate within and between functional groups, including status meetings and reports.
- Raise risks and identify dependencies within and across groups.
- Prioritize the activities of cross-functional project teams.
- Create and monitor schedules and resources to meet project deliverables.
- Support, manage and influence continuous improvement of product development process, practices, and initiatives.
- Monitor programs/projects from initiation through delivery and interfacing with internal customers or department personnel
- Procure parts, manage purchase orders, and bills of material, and build plans.
- Identify, escalate, and ensure the resolution of issues impacting the successful execution of programs.
- Lead cross-functional team in the delivery of complex hardware systems and software development
- Manage, own and drive projects with regards to cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals
- Provide detailed project plans and schedules

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- PMI certification is a plus. 5-12 years of PM experience in an Engineering organization is desired.
- Deep understanding of Engineering development process and activities.
- Strong team player and creative thinker who is able to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors against plans.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as excellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes and operations planning.
- Strong understanding of technical requirements for technology integration (hardware, software, firmware, etc.)
Skills Required
- BA or BS degree, or equivalent practical experience
- 5–12 years of project management experience in an engineering organization
- PMI certification
- Deep understanding of engineering development processes and activities
- Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors against plans
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
