We are seeking a highly technical Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead development and scaling of critical Modules on the Matter Compiler. You will combine strong technical judgment with program leadership — defining scope and interfaces, setting ownership and success metrics, maintaining integrated plans, and running the operating cadence that drives decisions and execution.
You will drive programs for integrated machine systems spanning precision motion, optics/metrology, vacuum process modules, embedded software, and factory workcell infrastructure.
This role is for a proven technical individual contributor who moved into program leadership to amplify impact. At Atomic Machines, the Program Management Office (PMO) is a leverage function. You will strengthen the execution system by tightening feedback loops, reducing friction, clarifying “done,” and surfacing high-integrity signals on progress, risks, and decisions. You’ll push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital micromanufacturing — bringing rigor where it matters, creativity where it’s required, and leadership that turns complexity into forward motion.
We are seeking Senior Technical Program Managers at a variety of experience levels from Senior to Senior Staff, and we make decisions about the right fit on a per-candidate basis. Your actual level and compensation are determined based on your specific experience and skill level.
What You’ll Do- Develop and drive program plans for a robotic micromanufacturing system and process automation on the Matter Compiler, defining scope, milestones, owners, success metrics, and delivery outcomes for assigned Nodes, Modules, or Platform initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional planning across mechanical, electrical, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and leadership to align sequencing, resources, and delivery commitments that close on business outcomes.
- Drive change control by framing technical tradeoffs as structured decisions, ensuring clarity on options, risks, and implications to continuously improve both speed and quality of decision making.
- Build and maintain integrated execution plans that connect technical strategy to day-to-day work, dependencies, and measurable progress.
- Track execution against plan, identify gaps early, and drive corrective actions to keep programs on track.
- Support and refine execution mechanisms that increase learning rate, improve predictability, and reduce friction across teams.
- Coordinate deployment and execution in the Hybrid Fab environment, enabling rapid design-test-learn cycles.
- Create and maintain program dashboards, reviews, and reporting that provide data-driven visibility into status, risks, and dependencies.
- Develop and improve processes to eliminate recurring challenges such as system integration, pilot builds, and cross-team synchronization.
- 5–8 years of experience spanning hands-on engineering and technical program leadership (TPM, technical lead, engineering lead, or equivalent) on complex, multidisciplinary products.
- Proven expertise driving product development processes for delivering integrated hardware-electronics-software systems from concept through manufacturing release.
- Strong technical fluency grounded in real build experience — able to recognize when a decision requires more rigor and when to move fast.
- Experience with at least one of the following, and working familiarity with the others: mechanical systems involving motion, kinematics, sensing, and closed-loop control; software for embedded or hardware-adjacent systems with hardware-software system integration.
- Proven ability to manage complex dependencies and execute in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Working knowledge of agile and iterative development, including practical application to hardware programs.
- Bias for ownership, clarity, and follow-through — able to drive programs from definition to delivery.
Strong communication skills — clear, concise, and effective with both technical teams and leadership. - Sound judgment and emotional intelligence navigating cross-functional team dynamics.
- BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.

What We Do
Atomic Machines is redefining humanity’s relationship with matter. We see a future where our tools will allow us to reorganize matter at the atomic level at will, where we will go from bits to atoms for any object or machine that can be designed in alignment with physical laws. We have begun our journey with the development of a robotic manufacturing platform capable of making an entirely new class of micro-electromechanical (MEMS) devices. We are well funded and have exceptionally strong product/market fit and a clear go-to-market path for the device we will make first with our platform. Our platform breaks traditional manufacturing paradigms and constraints, enabling inexpensive rapid prototyping as well as large scale manufacturing with highly compelling economics.
Joining forces with us means becoming part of an incredibly talented, inventive and passionate multi-disciplinary team working on a massive world-changing mission. You will have the opportunity to help define the company from its early days. You’ll be challenged to learn and grow as a builder and a leader as the company itself grows rapidly. And you will receive significant equity compensation - you’ll truly be a company owner and benefit financially from our overall success.
