Position Details

Job Title: Technical Product Manager

Function/Department: Technology

Experience: 10–15 Years

Location: Hyderabad

Role Overview:

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to drive the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology programs across Chubb India’s digital transformation portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and delivery – requiring a strong technical foundation to engage credibly with engineering teams, combined with the program management discipline to orchestrate cross-functional initiatives at scale. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of full stack technology landscapes (including Node.js-based platforms, cloud-native architectures, and microservices), hands-on experience managing Agile and SAFe delivery at enterprise scale, and a product mindset that keeps customer and business outcomes at the center of every decision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale technology programs spanning multiple engineering squads, from initiation and planning through to production release and benefit realization
  • Define and manage program roadmaps, release plans, milestone schedules, and dependency maps across cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, DevOps, Architecture, Product, Business)
  • Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders and engineering teams – translating strategic goals and business requirements into actionable product backlogs, epics, and user stories
  • Drive Agile / SAFe delivery ceremonies: PI planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, scrum-of-scrums, and program increment tracking
  • Maintain a prioritized and groomed product backlog; lead backlog refinement sessions with engineering leads and architects to ensure clarity, sizing accuracy, and technical feasibility
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage program risks, issues, and blockers; escalate with proposed solutions rather than problems alone
  • Engage credibly with Engineering Managers, architects, and senior developers on technical solutioning, architectural trade-offs, API design, microservices decomposition, and cloud deployment strategies
  • Define and track program KPIs, OKRs, and delivery metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect escape rate, release frequency); present dashboards and status reports to senior leadership and global stakeholders
  • Govern scope, budget, and resource allocation across programs; flag deviations early and drive corrective actions
  • Champion CI/CD adoption, DevOps maturity, and engineering best practices as enablers of faster, safer delivery
  • Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to define release readiness criteria, manage change control, and govern go-live decisions
  • Lead vendor and third-party partner coordination where applicable; manage SLAs, contractual deliverables, and integration dependencies
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within and across delivery teams
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and digital insurance innovations to inform product and program strategy

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of full stack web application architecture: front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / TypeScript, Angular / Vue.js) and back-end (Node.js, Java, Python, or .NET)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems – sufficient to review technical designs and challenge assumptions
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – understanding of deployment models, scalability patterns, and cost governance
  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release management frameworks
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and quality assurance practices
  • Familiarity with version control systems: Git, GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket
  • Proficiency in program reporting tools and executive dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Over 12 years of progressive experience in technology delivery, program management, or technical product management roles
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-team programs in an Agile or SAFe delivery model
  • Prior hands-on background as a software engineer or technical lead is strongly preferred
  • Certifications preferred: PMP, SAFe RTE / Product Manager, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or AWS / Azure cloud practitioner
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, distributed, cloud-hosted platforms on time and within scope
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills – comfortable presenting to C-level and global audiences
