The Technical Product Manager bears a significant responsibility for the tactical execution of our global product strategy. This position is integral to sustaining the continuity of our product-oriented operating model. We are looking for TPMs to join our Health & Care business unit to support our Private Health Insurance products. You'll have the opportunity to work on mission led and purpose driven software products, which make a tangible difference to the lives of millions of everyday citizens.
The Technical Product Manager at Civica plays a vital role in bringing our product strategy to life, seamlessly aligning our strategic goals with daily development activities. This position is dedicated to driving innovation in cutting-edge cloud-based, mobile, and AI-enhanced solutions.
You will work closely with the Product Manager to tackle trade-off decisions amidst competing priorities, resource constraints, and technical hurdles. In this role, you'll engage with a wide array of stakeholders—including engineering, design, marketing, commercial, and customer success teams—to drive effective product development. Additionally, you will harness data and metrics to guide product decisions, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
You'll get the chance to dive into exciting activities like managing the Product Backlog, overseeing Agile Process Management, enjoying Continuous Discovery, fostering collaboration with stakeholders, and helping to define and prioritize features.
What you will need to be successful in this role
- This role requires a Technical Product Manager with strong analytical and collaborative skills to support our team in creating high-quality products that meet the needs of both existing and prospective customers, alongside effective problem-solving capabilities
- A passion for building world class products - we're looking for true 'product people'
- Experience working in a global matrixed organisation will be highly advantageous - you'll need to be comfortable working through periods of ambiguity (as we are an organisation going through an exciting time of change)
- Experience working in both legacy and modern software development environments - you'll need to have an in depth understanding what it takes to create successful SaaS products from discovery though to shipping
- Proven experience with agile methodologies and product management principles is crucial
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills are essential
- The capacity to prioritize effectively to maximize the delivery of customer value is vital
- A solid technical foundation in cloud-based software solutions is anticipated
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning applications
- Ability to adapt flexibly to evolving market conditions, customer requirements, and business priorities
- Experience working in geographically distributed teams (you'll need to be prepared to connect with our UK teams so can manage working across different timezones)
- Background in market research, competitive analysis, and market trend assessment
- Acquaintance with UX design principles and human-centered design methodologies
