We are currently looking for a Technical Operations Manager to join our Biomass Operations team in Portugal. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and operational performance of our biomass assets, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise asset performance and operational excellence.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support the day-to-day technical and operational performance of biomass plants, ensuring optimal availability, reliability, efficiency and throughput
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving operational performance, plant efficiency, equipment reliability and health & safety standards
- Provide technical oversight throughout the full asset lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance activities
- Develop, implement and continuously improve operational procedures, policies and best practices to enhance safety, quality and productivity
- Analyse operational and performance data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions when required
- Coordinate technical projects and operational improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budget and timelines
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues, optimise plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support asset integrity, environmental compliance and long-term value creation through effective operational and maintenance strategies
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing across operational teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Conduct regular visits to biomass facilities, providing on-site operational support and ensuring alignment with corporate standards and procedures
Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Design, Project Development, Operations Management, Product Innovation or other relevant technical fields
- Proven ability to analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Solid understanding of industrial operations, power generation assets and maintenance practices; experience within biomass, energy or other industrial environments is considered an advantage
- Experience in coordinating technical projects and multidisciplinary teams within operational environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, operational and corporate teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- High level of accountability, organisation and attention to detail
- Availability to travel frequently across production sites in Portugal

Skills Required
