Avery Dennison is seeking a Technical Marketing Manager - Digital Print Media, within the Graphics Solutions EMENA segment. In this role, you will be part of the Digital Print Media team, helping to differentiate from competitors by providing your technical expertise. You will work closely with cross functional teams on product development projects, translating market and customer insights into product specific needs and features. Ideally based in Soignies, Belgium, or within driving distance, you will be reporting to the Segment Manager.
Objectives of the role:
- Become a champion for specific application segments and support the Sales & Marketing organisation for Digital Print Media applications and customers of Avery Dennison Graphics Solution Europe.
- Translate long-term end-user needs into market insights, trigger next generation platform developments
- Lead or contribute to integrated product development projects, in particular responsible for lab request and the full voice of the customer qualification process
- Conduct benchmark sessions with our installation network partners
- Own brand/ portfolio related technical, warranty and training documents
- Lead and coordinate certification activities
To be successful in your role you will:
- Advise Sales and Marketing teams with technical questions on subjects related to product performance, conversion, application and end use for products of your portfolio throughout EMENA
- Direct involvement in integrated product development projects. Identify customer requirements and translate into critical needs. Advise R&D on the definition of product requirements. Execute in-house & customer field tests to verify if new products meet market requirements
- Support Sales department & Customer Care Center with investigation of structural complaints
- Collaborate with printer & equipment OEMs
- Create and present (technical) presentations and training for internal customers as well as customer’s staff
- Writing / Editing / Updating of Technical Product Datasheets ,Technical Application Bulletins and Warranty documents
- Investigate competitive products and conduct benchmark application testing to gather intelligence that can be used for product development programs and at discussions with customers
- Analyze industry trends and initiate internal dialogue with Marketing and R&D on next generation developments
- Willing to travel to customers and OEMs in EMENA
- Knowledge of self-adhesive Digital Print Media (including printer OEMs, Color Management etc.) market
- Multiple years of active work experience in converting (printing/laminating) and installing Digital Print Media
- Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Digital Print Technologies or similar
- Ideally technical work experience in a self-adhesive and / or chemical business environment
- Able to work independently, set objectives / priorities in a dynamic business environment
- Ideally having Project Management experience
- Problem solving, organized and having good analytical and decision making skills
- Team player with customer-focused approach
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent communication and language skills including English (fluent both spoken and written), and - preferred but not obligatory - German, Italian, French or Dutch
