The Technical Leader – Product Definition, will be responsible for providing technical direction, driving strategies and oversight to PDE scope of Gas Turbine Flange to Flange Components and Accessories scope ownership for Services Upgrade projects. Additionally, he/she shall also drive Quality initiatives and process enhancements across Accessories teams. The Technical Leader shall also be driving seamless collaboration across HDS ITR workstreams throughout project lifecycle to deliver for our customers while prioritizing with SQDC.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver Flange to Flange components and Accessories scope for Services upgrade projects with immaculate quality and timelines, while staying within the budget
Drive Monday Morning Planning and Daily Management rigor in the team to help team address execution roadblocks
Provide innovative design solutions to leading to standardization and maximize direct releases
Guide and mentor the team members by imparting expert knowledge, proven best practices/lessons learnt etc. while ensuring adhering to processes and aligning to business priorities.
Build seamless partnership with Heavy Duty Services ITR teams and CTH community
Collaborate with HDS cross functional teams and act as technical interface of the team.
Own & lead key business initiatives (such as LEAN, Kaizen, Continuous improvement etc.) to eliminate waste, improving processes, drive driving productivity and quality.
Implement and drive organizational initiatives focused on FPY improvement
Ensure line of balance of the team through look ahead and daily management
Drive PSRs to root cause KPI misses and work with the leadership for implementing countermeasures
Provide support to adjacent Heavy Duty Services in providing winning solutions and solving problem for our customers.
Basic Qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech graduate with Mechanical Engineering or allied streams
At least 15 years of hands-on experience in the area of design of Gas Turbine, Gas turbine Accessories and Components
Deep domain expertise in Gas Turbine Accessories system and Flange to Flange components, particularly in the Services upgrade projects
Highly skilled in Problem solving/Issue Resolution and ability to work across functions to arrive at most optimal & quick resolution to customer issues.
Proven ability to develop and mentor others to create a pool of high-quality technical talents within the team.
Cognizant of state-of-the-art CAD software and advanced manufacturing technology including model-based design.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101 or applicable) relevant to the function.
Solid contributions in a similar role or previous position
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities and assembly procedures
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Able to work with prioritization through SQDC
Ability to assertively communicate with Senior Leadership with Data
Demonstrated ability to delegate and follow-up.
Demonstrated ability in leading/managing complex project executions under demanding schedules and constrained timelines.
