This position supports the Navy Fleet and Family Support contract. NFFS delivers comprehensive Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) services worldwide, ensuring consistent, high-quality support for active-duty Sailors, retirees, eligible civilians overseas, and their families. The program implements, evaluates, and continually refines established FFSP offerings—developing the concepts, structures, and processes needed to maximize well-being across all installations. Key objectives include providing global staffing to supplement existing FFSP personnel through remote or surge/on-demand support, and delivering webinar hosting, production, and facilitation via a robust learning-management system.
The Technical Lead provides strategic technical leadership and direction for the design, implementation, and evolution of the Navy’s Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) technology solutions. This role is accountable for defining architecture standards, ensuring platform security and compliance, and driving the delivery of scalable, high-quality systems. The Technical Lead partners closely with stakeholders, mentors development teams, and oversees the technical execution across core platform components, including Salesforce, Amazon Connect, and integrated partner applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
Define and communicate the program’s technical architecture, design principles, and technology stack, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and DoD security requirements.
Make critical design and implementation decisions that drive scalability, performance, security, and maintainability across all solution components.
Establish and enforce coding standards, configuration management practices, and secure development protocols consistent with FedRAMP and Navy directives.
Review and approve solution designs, technical specifications, and integration plans to ensure interoperability across Salesforce, Amazon Connect, and third-party platforms.
Oversee code quality through structured peer reviews, automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, conduct root cause analysis, and drive timely resolution of system issues to maintain operational readiness.
Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed technical solutions and accurate implementation plans.
Monitor system performance, technical debt, and platform health; recommend and implement refactoring, optimization, and modernization strategies as needed.
Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to drive innovation and enhance solution capabilities and delivery efficiency. Ensure continuous compliance with industry standards, Navy-specific policies, and program governance requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field OR an Associate's degree in a related field / Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and 2+ additional years of related experience OR 4+ years additional related experience.
6+ years of experience in enterprise systems development or technical leadership roles; OR 4+ years with a Master’s degree and proven hands-on experience guiding architecture and implementation.
3+ years of experience leading the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based enterprise applications, including Salesforce, Amazon Connect, or comparable platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in technical architecture, system integration, and secure platform design within DoD, FedRAMP, or IL4-compliant environments.
Strong background in guiding technical standards, ensuring code quality, and supporting secure and efficient delivery pipelines.
Experience conducting technical design reviews, platform performance tuning, and managing cross-functional delivery teams.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing scalable solutions in production environments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across functional teams and stakeholders.
Due to Government contract, US Citizenship is required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
Must have a secure, dedicated home workspace and reliable hard-wired internet connection (coaxial or fiber; wireless/hotspot not permitted).
