Technical Lead, RSV Vaccine Introduction Project

Key Roles   

• Partner with MIRNA team to generate health economic evidence to inform MOH RSV MI prioritization decision-making and ongoing NITAG recommendation refinements as applicable.  

• Review, summarize and contextualize WHO SAGE recommendations related to RSV vaccine introduction to contribute to the RSV Evidence Compendium informing Ethiopia’s NITAG. 

• Contribute to the evidence synthesis presentation to Ethiopia’s NITAG. 

• Support MIRNA key policy stakeholder mapping with enhanced granularity and evidence dissemination among policy stakeholders. 

• Assist in developing an A&C strategy in collaboration with MIRNA and the MOH. 

• Develop standardized advocacy tools in partnership with MIRNA colleagues. 

• Facilitate an A&C workshop. 

• Partner with EPI on Gavi application dossiers for NVI and scale-up. 

• Customize the generic NVI readiness assessment tool, and support the technical oversight of readiness assessments. 

• Support the Immunization Service Desk head in preparing a presentation to Ethiopia’s ICC. 

• Disseminate RSV maternal vaccine readiness assessment findings and strategic recommendations to the national TWG, NVI task force, and key immunization partners (e.g., WHO and UNICEF) to inform the national rollout roadmap. 

• Develop TOR that define the specific mandate (from EPI, Maternal Health, and Child Health service desks) and meeting frequency for the coordination body. 

• Participate in regular RSV TWG meetings and ensure the systematic documentation of proceedings, resolutions, and follow-up actions. 

• Represent PATH in official meetings and workshops.

Required skills, knowledge and experience 

• Master’s degree or higher in monitoring and evaluation, health informatics, public health, Epidemiology, Statistics, and/or other relevant disciplines. 

• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in public health programming, policy or research, with at least five (5) years’ experience in project management in the area of immunization and maternal/child health programs, 

• Substantial experience in project planning, management, data management, M and E required. 

• Experience in research and evaluation of public health programs (qualitative and quantitative)  

• Advanced level experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Stata, Epi Info) and MS Office Suite  

• Excellent understanding of country health management information system   

• Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with government, partners, donors and international organizations at various levels. 

• Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multi-cultural environment.  

• Experience in facilitating meetings and moderating complex discussions with a variety of stakeholders (including religious and clan leaders) preferred. 

• Excellent analytical and report writing skills.  

• Good presentation/communication skills, 

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, including cross-cultural teams. 

• Ability to travel to regions and abroad.
